Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Jerry Hall wants to inspire drag queens with her performances and Victoria Pendleton is in agony after training!

Strictly Come Dancing star, Jerry Hall, has revealed that her reason for signing up for this year’s hit BBC dance reality show was to inspire drag queens.

Jerry, who used to be married to Rolling Stones legend, Mick Jagger, commented: “My agent talked me into it – he’s very persuasive. I am hoping to inspire drag queens around the world.” And she said of dance partner Anton du Beke: “He is going to ride me hard.”

Meanwhile, Jerry’s Olympic rival, cyclist Victoria Pendleton, has admitted that training is hard work and that after only the first week she is already in agony!

Speaking to the Radio Times, the Olympian revealed: “My feet are already killing me. I’ve been banned from wearing heels for ten years and wearing them all day is agony.”

In the men’s camp, former cricketer Michael Vaughan has told how he is already having to try and win over his own family, as none of them are backing him in the competition:

He said: “My daughter will be voting for Kimberley because she’s a Girls Aloud fan, and my son wants Louis Smith to win.”

Finally, former This Morning host, Fern Britton’s first ever Strictly spray tan was so strong smelling it forced her TV chef husband, Phil Vickery, to sleep in the spare bedroom!

Fern said: “Being a chef, he is very sensitive to smells and he can’t stand it.”

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing begins in a fortnight, who are you backing to win?
