Strictly Come Dancing favourite professional dancer, Brendan Cole, is currently recovering after smashing his car into a wall at Silverstone!

According to the Sun newspaper, the Ballroom King smashed a sports car he was driving while taking part in the race circuit’s Classic Celebrity Challenge at the legendary race track on Saturday.

Brendan, who went hurtling in to a tyre wall at 73mph, took to social networking site, Twitter, to inform fans of the accident, tweeting: “Had complete brake failure in practice. Hit wall head-on at high-speed. I’m a little beat up but OK.”

Musical director and producer, Barry Robinson, who is a close friend of Cole, also took to the site to inform all of the incident, tweeting that the dancer was “quite shaken up and has shocking wounds”.

This news caused a panic on Twitter over the effects it would have on Cole’s participation in this years Strictly Come Dancing, with one fan tweeting: “Hope your dancing feet weren’t harmed.”

Brendan insisted that despite the accident he was feeling  “achy but good,” adding: “I’d like to send out special thanks to the medical team and paramedics for looking after me so brilliantly.”
