Strictly Dance Fever Gets The Axe From The BBC
It has been announced that ‘Strictly Dance Fever’ has been axed by the BBC after just two series.
TV bosses decided to drop the show after it failed to meet the ratings of the BBC’s ‘How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria’
BBC bosses now want Graham Norton, who hosted both reality shows, to focus on the follow-up of ‘Maria’, which is expected to look for the next star of West End productions ‘Joseph’ or ‘Grease’.
A source said: “‘Dance Fever’ was great but ‘Maria’ proved audiences have a real passion for those types of shows.”

I really liked Dance Fever. Maria was just stupid.
I can’t believe Dance fever has been axed. “Come dancing” draws in the crowds.. “fever” was the one chance for non “celebs” and professionals to show real talent.
Looking for stars for musicals is great.. but what about those people who can really dance, but maybe don’t have the best singing voice?

Can’t believe there will not be another series of strictly dance fever. I thought it was brilliant. It was a chance for non-celebs to show some real talent. Really didn’t enjoy Maria – bring back dance fever!
i agree it is such a shame that the dance fever has ended! i was lucky enough to be on the first show and came third with my dance partner claire! since then we have went our own ways , however our dancing is busyer than ever thanks to the show! i am away nearly every weekend teaching and doing demos,
i think the bbc should maybe try a different format like the usa show “so u think you can dance” this to is a fantastic show, maybe the audience rates would be highter ? who knows?
So disappointed this was one of my favourite shows.

I can’y believe it either! I was so looking forward to the next series as was my almost 5 year old daughter who is going to be most upset. I think it was better than dancing on ice. Come on BBC, Maria was not everybody’s cup of tea!

Absolutly torn apart by the Beeb, its our money that pays for these type of shows, and so they better bring it back. Strictly dance fever is actually better than strictly come dancing, its host wasn’t an old egotistical has been like Forsythe, and shows a wider range of dance styles and gives an ordinary kid on the block a break in life. maria and joesph are crap. Shame on you BBC.

i mean maria and joseph are both a load of complete rubbish.
Dance fever is inspirational and gets people dancing where as singing shows don’t do anything.
Holie and Darrien are my idols as were gem and gemma the series before.

Gutted it is not comming back. WHY WHY WHY.There is nothing on the BBC at the mo. I was gutted when Paul and Pam were put out they were the very very best.I counted the marks over the last 4 weeks they were in and the stats say they were the best couple in the competition.There were other fantastic couples but not one single Dancer was anywhere near Pam. She was awesome. When Arlene Phillips said Pam was not just one of the hottest Dancers in the competition but one of the hottest in London. She was not kidding.Does anyone know if Pam has a Bebo site?????
