Made In Chelsea star, Spencer Matthews, has admitted that he was disappointed at the rating figures for his latest reality TV stint on Channel 5′s The Bachelor!

Matthews, who controversially split up with co-star Louise Thompson weeks after stealing her from best friend Jamie Laing, in order to take part in the once hit reality dating show, has confessed that the viewing figures the show received fell very short of the mark, according to the Sun newspaper.

When asked if he was happy with only half a million viewers on Friday he replied: “No, not really.”

“It’s very difficult; I’ve had a bit of a tough time with it.

“Ratings are down and it’s a shame.”

“I don’t want to make excuses because I think the show is a good show. I enjoy it and I hope some people out there do as well.”

“I think with the Euros and the Olympics going on at the same time, especially in Britain it’s quite a difficult time to compete on TV.”

However, Matthews, who has just confirmed that he will be returning to his MIC roots for the fourth series which has just commenced filming, said he didn’t regret taking part in the show, made incredibly popular by Gavin Henson last year, and commented how he learned a lot from the experience:

Speaking to TV Biz, he explained: “It’s quite a lot of pressure to do as it’s all eyes on you, it’s not like on Made In Chelsea where you can rock up a bit hungover at times, it doesn’t work on the Bachelor. I had to be on better form more frequently.”
