The Bachelor star Carianne Barrow says the show “plays with people’s hearts and emotions”
Fans of The Bachelor may recall that last year, Carianne Barrow won the heart of Bachelor Gavin Henson – who was of course formerly married to Charlotte Church – however, in an interview with Now magazine, Carianne has warned this year’s crop of hopeful females that being picked by The Bachelor isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
This year’s Bachelor is of course Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, who will “find his true love” out of a batch of 24 women, all of whom are keen to ensure he remains a Bachelor no longer by the end of the series.
However, Carianne has some advice for those ladies. She said, “I want to warn all of you who are doing The Bachelor this year: You may think you want the fame and glamour of dating a celeb, but be careful what you wish for…
“I went on the show to find love, but I was naive.
“I was edited to look like an airhead bitch, for want of a better phrase, and that’s not me at all.
“Doing a show like The Bachelor plays with peoples hearts and emotions.”
Carianne split with her Bachelor Gavin just months after the show finished, and she reckons he was made to look like a “nice guy” by the programme’s editors, when in actuality, she reckons he was far from it…
She said, “Gavin and the show made mincemeat out of me and I don’t want anyone else to go though that pain.
“With the little shred of dignity I have left I want to get as far away from the world as possible.”
The Bachelor UK 2012 continues tonight on Channel 5.
