The Big Reunion: Atomic Kitten’s Natasha Hamilton needed counselling and had a breakdown after band split!
Fans of Atomic Kitten will no doubt be aware that they’ve reunited recently for ITV2’s The Big Reunion, however, for band member Natasha Hamilton, starring in the show has brought back painful memories of when the girl group parted ways…
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Natasha revealed that she was so affected by the acrimonious break up that she underwent nine months of counselling following a breakdown.
She said: “I had counselling every week for about nine months after I quit. Everything got so bad I had to quit for my own health…
“It was so stressful – we were overworked and I was worn out.
“I had post-natal depression, we were touring the world and I just couldn’t cope any more. It all just got too much.
“If I hadn’t quit, God knows what could have happened to me.”
Natasha – who was of course band mates with Kerry Katona and Liz McClarnon – added, “It’s taken years for me to put my record discs back on the wall because I didn’t want any ¬reminders of the bad times.”
While recalling her time with the band, she said, “One day I woke up and didn’t want to be on stage…
“The thought of being in front of people was my worst nightmare and all my life it had been my dream.
“Fast-forward five years, I was having panic ¬attacks because I had to perform.”
However, Natasha now hopes to ¬join a rumoured Big ¬Reunion UK Tour after a sell-out one-off gig.
Of that she said, “It would be a shame not to do a ¬proper tour. The response has been amazing.”
The Big Reunion continues on ITV2 on Thursday at 9pm, but for now, here’s a look at the band member of Atomic Kitten talking about their reunion…
