The Dame Edna Treatment

Dame Edna Everage, housewife and self-confessed ‘gigastar’ makes a triumphant return to UK television in a brand new series for ITV1.

Celebrating 50 years of megastardom, the busy international icon has kindly made room in her hectic schedule to bestow a little of The Dame Edna Treatment upon ITV viewers. The legendary Dame will host the series – or ‘course of treatments’ – from her brand new exclusive health spa. The Dame will entertain fellow megastars as they rest and recuperate from the strains of everyday celebrity life. Guests throughout the series include Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin and Susan Sarandon, and Dame Edna will duet with singers as diverse as Engelbert Humperdinck and Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas.

Assisting The Dame throughout the series will be her daughter Valmai – but let’s hope Valmai’s light fingered reputation doesn’t let her down! Australian Cultural Attache Sir Les Patterson will also be on hand with his own brand of ‘lifestyle’ advice. And other special guests will also pop in throughout the series to help at Spa Edna.

Dame Edna says ‘I’m giving exclusive access to my inner sanctum. While most gigastars, megastars and wannabe popular people are locking themselves away behind big gates and spooky old security guards, I am opening my doors and my arms to you, you lucky little possums.’

Australia’s First Lady and favourite export has spent the last few years entertaining royalty and international world leaders; jetting between her lavishly appointed homes in Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Switzerland and Martha’s Vineyard; performing sell out shows around the world; and carrying out charity work in her positions of Friend and Governor of Friends of the Prostate and creator of The World Prostate Olympics.

Dame Edna’s inimitable interviewing style has made her a household name across the globe and viewers will be treated to a unique glimpse into her luxurious life. Renowned for her stylish and exceptional dress sense, Dame Edna has a colossal new wardrobe for the series and will bring a touch of antipodean glamour to Saturday evenings.
