As a result of the Marbella summer special of The Only Way Is Essex, we may be treated to a TOWIE wedding special too, as Mario Falcone has got down on one knee to propose to girlfriend, Lucy Mecklenburgh!

According to The Sun Newspaper, handsome Mario, or Big Nose as he is known as to friends, popped the question in front of the cameras of the hit ITV reality show in the very resort that almost ended his relationship with Lucy Mecklenburgh for good!

It was on a summer holiday to Marbella, made famous by the cast of the Essex brigade, last year, when Lucy famously cheated on Mario, who she had not long been seeing at the time, with former co-star Mark Wright.

Wrightwas engaged at the time to current TOWIE star, Lauren Goodger, and the incident, which was not caught on camera this time, reshaped the futures of many of the current cast.

TOWIE bosses had wanted to keep this engagement quiet in a bid to surprise viewers and boost ratings, but you can’t keep a secret like that in Essex!

Witnesses of the romantic gesture leaked back that the proposal happened after Mario whisked Lucy off on a cruise on Friday night after they had finished filming for day, however, in a bid to keep the news to themselves, the pair were seen leaving the ship looking miserable and with no ring to be seen!

This news will probably come as a bitter reminder to Lauren Goodger, who’s engagement to Mark Wright had, up until now, been the only one in the shows history, which was ended partly due to Mecklenburgh.

However, there were no signs of resentment from  Queen of drama, Goodger, who was showing off her slimmer figure to three accommodating footballers elsewhere on the holiday resort.

The salon owner, who recently was almost sacked from the show for acting like a diva, was seen on Saturday flirting with  Stoke City’s Jermaine Pennant and Tottenham players Aaron Lennon and Jake Livermore.

But is seems as though she may have been parting a bit too hard, as only hours later co-star Cara Kilbey took to social networking site, Twitter, to tweet  a picture of a very sorry for herself looking Goodger with the caption :  “I think it’s game over for Lauren Goodger.”
