American Idol results 2012: Elise Testone or Skylar Laine eliminated and Katy Perry’s pre-taped performance (VIDEO)

Last night saw the remaining five American Idol contestants dwindle down to just four, after the latest elimination which saw another singer leave the eleventh series of American Idol.

Elise Testone found her self in the bottom three, along with Skylar Laine and Hollie Cavanagh, during last nights result show, and was sent home after host Ryan Seacrest reveled that she had received the fewest public votes.

Jimmy Iovine thought Elise totally failed on song choices last night, commenting:

“She picked a monotone, stadium anthem.. it comes off clubby.”

During the show, pop sensation, Katy Perry, performed her latest single, ‘Part of Me’, and former American Idol contestant, Stefano Langone also took to the stage which started his career, for a rendition of his new song ‘I’m On a Roll’.

The audience was over excited at the thought of Katy Perry performing, and the stage manager and audience coordinator helped fuel the anticipation by teasing them with lines such as: “Should we tell them? Do you want to tell them? OK, let’s just let it be a surprise.”

However, when the surprise was revealed to be that the performance was actually pre-taped, the audience responded to the iconic singer  by booing and being very vocal about their disappointment.
