The Voice UK insider says Jessie J “has signed on the dotted line” for series two!
Ever since The Voice UK ended its first series, there has been much speculation about which, if any, of the show’s four coaches, Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue, would return to the show next year.
However, a BBC insider reckons that Jessie J has in fact already signed up for a second series, and landed a deal worth £500,000 in the process.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, the source said, “Jessie has signed on the dotted line and will definitely be back for another series.
“She did find some of it tougher than she expected but the positives outweighed the negatives so she’s chosen to come back…
“Now she knows what to expect, Jessie is determined to enjoy it more next year, so she’s already excited about getting started.”
Many viewers of the show had wondered if there would even be a second outing for The Voice, given the p**s poor viewer ratings, and the subsequent equally poor ticket sales for the show’s live tour.
However, last week the BBC claimed that The Voice has been one of their most successful shows, having averaged 9.2million viewers across the first series.
Of that, another BBC insider said, “Producers are convinced Jessie is the main reason ratings were so high.
“She is the coach everyone was talking about and she’s the one who divided opinion and gave the show some attitude.
“It’s no surprise they’ve snapped her up within hours of announcing the news about the ratings.”
An industry expert said, “The team working on The Voice know next year is crunch time.
“They were always going to get a second run, so this year it was pretty relaxed, even when ratings dipped.
“But if next year isn’t successful there’s no way the BBC will be splashing out another £22million.
“Getting Jessie J back on board is their first step to keeping the show on air after next year.”
Danny O’Donoghue is keen to return for another year too, and recently said, “I’m committed to coming back next year if I’m asked.
“Who wouldn’t want to be involved? I think it was a huge hit despite what people say about the ratings.
“When you have a new show it will take a bit of time to get it right.”
Are you glad to hear that Jessie will be back? Or would you have preferred a whole new set of coaches for series two?

Why would Jessie J,or in fact any of the coaches, want to return to a show that’s a complete flop? This makes no sense.
I’m so glad Jessie is back! She was by far the most captivating coach on the show and i can see why the BBC would snap her up, especially after Simon Cowell showed interest in her! And I think The Voice was brilliant, and just like most shows, the first series never has massive viewing ratings. If I was at the BBC, I’d be thrilled with and average of 9.8 million viewers for series 1! Can’t wait for the next series, and definitly can’t wait to see Jessie again!
i totally agree with u Josh jessie j is amazing
she brings attitude, humor to that show. If she wasnt there it would be the most boring show. Haters are just jelous of her straight
IM OVER THE MOON JESSIE J IS RETURNING ! SHE BRINGS HUMOR TO THE SHOW SHE BRINGS ATTITUDE SHE MAKES THE VOICE BE THE SHOW IT IS
THANKYOU BBC
