The Voice UK: Will.i.am says “I’ll definitely come back” but will the BBC want him?!

As fans of The Voice will of course know, last night was the final and saw Leanne Mitchell crowned The Voice UK 2012.

And today, the Daily Mirror reports that coach Will.i.am has revealed “I’ll definitely come back” for another series of the show.

He told the paper, “I’ll definitely come back. I have really enjoyed my time on the show.

“I’ve already started recording with Tyler James, Jaz Ellington and Jay Norton.”

He added, “The annoying thing for me is people go on these shows but it takes forever for their albums to come out.

“I wanted to do The Voice because I want to speed up the process. I just want to come live in London and do that.”

However, rumour has it that he may not be given the opportunity to come back, and ditto for his fellow coaches Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue

The Mail on Sunday reports that amid plans to totally revamp the show in light of the fact that viewing figures have fallen from 11 million per programme to just 4.5 million, BBC controller Danny Cohen and the show’s creator, John de Mol, are considering hiring a whole new set of coaches for next year’s show.

A BBC source is quoted as saying, “We have already paid £22 million for two years so there is no question of it being axed.

”But it seems unlikely any of the current coaches will be back. The viewers haven’t connected strongly enough with them.

”The show got off to a fantastic start, but the fans got bored of the same ultra-positive and unbelievably nice comments every week, and viewing figures tumbled.”

The paper adds, “Celebrities such as Adele and Cheryl Cole are likely to be targeted for the show’s second run, reports say.”

So, what do you think? Should all four coaches return next year, or would you like to see new mentors? And if so, who should they be?

If there are new coaches, I won’t be watching. The show does need some revamping, but the coaches are not the problem. They are a great team! And the media is really a mess of lies, as a couple weeks ago, it was announced that all 4 coaches were invited back.
