The Voice UK winner Leanne Mitchell ‘not bothered by flop single’

Winner of the first series of The Voice UK Leanne Mitchell insists she’s “not bothered” her debut single didn’t storm the charts.
The singer appeared on the show last year and was mentored by Welshman Tom Jones during her time on the programme but her debut single Run To You peaked at number 45 on the chart.
However, Leanne seems unsurprised and is instead focusing on the release of her first album.
She told BBC Newsbeat: “To be honest, I think because it’s on the BBC I think it’s very difficult to get as much exposure as maybe you would on other programmes.
“It hasn’t bothered me, but the main thing I want to work on is my album. So hopefully people will get to hear that very soon.”

Leanne has finished co-writing her second single If You Knew, which will be released in the near future.
