Tonight’s The Night Coming To BBC One

BBC One is making dreams come true as part of a brand new, six-part Saturday night entertainment show. Hosted by Torchwood and West End star John Barrowman, Tonight’s The Night combines show-stopping acts from world class artists with once-in-a-lifetime performances that make people’s dreams come true.
It doesn’t matter how young or old, or how big, small or bizarre the wish. Tonight’s The Night will end up being the night ordinary people live out their performing fantasy for real and become the most unlikely stars that Saturday evenings have ever seen.
From local community heroes to enthusiastic amateurs with a hidden talent they have been yearning to unleash, Tonight will be their time to shine – with the help of John and the best talent in the business.
This could mean duetting with a favourite pop group, singing with a big band or tripping the light fantastic with the cast of a hit West End musical. John will leave no performance stone unturned to make this the night of their lives and a must-see for entertainment fans.
There will also be big laughs, with a succession of celebrity guest appearances, performances, exciting studio challenges and show-stopping numbers. Guest celebrities will support the stars for a night and become involved in making their wishes come true.
The studio audience will also be kept on their showbiz toes, because John will be hitting unsuspecting members with a series of elaborately staged surprises, turning their dreams into a reality on the night whether they like it or not!
John says: “I am so excited to be part of this new BBC One entertainment format on Saturday nights. As well as being packed with showbiz razzle-dazzle and celebrity guests, I’m really looking forward to finding the unlikely stars out there, putting a little extra sparkle in their life and helping them realise their dreams.
“It’s pure entertainment and all about making people’s wishes come true.”
BBC One Controller Jay Hunt says: “Tonight’s The Night has all the hallmarks of great family entertainment. John Barrowman is the ultimate all-round performer and the perfect host for this exciting new show.”
18th April at 6:55pm – BBC One

It is my lifelong dream to work alongside John Barrowman. Even if just for a day. I know I am one of many to think so but I believe he is a a kind hearted, generous and inspirational person – as well as being utterly gorgeous! He has already inspired me in my life and I am only 13 years old.
I think Tonight the Night is a marvellous idea and will help to fulfill many deserving peoples lifelong dreams and aspirations. I cannot think of a better host.

how come all the contestants chosen on tonight’s the night on bbc are all white people and no coloured people are chosen to sing with their idols. it is discrimination. all of my friends from bangladesh and those from egypt feel strongly about this and have stopped watching this show after finding that other contestants of different colour/races aren’t chosen. they have stopped watching other shows that only choose all white people too. it isn’t fair to choose only white people. it is a free and equal country.

Please brighten up my daughters soul again after she lost her father year and half ago. Singing all the time but once her father died part of her did as for her sister and myself She loves and looks little like and has the beautiful smile like Miley Cyrus but she sings Hero by Maria Carey beuatiful. Singing on tv as she is confident would be kindest and most special thing that would lift her spirits again.
This dream is for our mum. She does’nt know i am writing to you. Mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour 3 years ago. They operated and removed what they could of it but were unable to completely remove the tumour as there were too many risks involved. We nearly lost mum during the surgery. After the surgery mum was left with no sight in her right eye and poor sight in her left along with other problems with her health. Her sight now is and will carry on deteriorating. 2 years later they have discovered it has grown and the only way they can treat it is by radiotherapy which she is due to start in acouple of weeks time. Our mum and the whole family have found these last 3 years the hardest time of our lives but mum has been strongest of us all and we can only ask if it would be possible for your team and us to make a wish come true for her.
She adores elephants! If she could just touch one it would make all her problems disapear just for a moment.
I cannot put into words what it would mean to her,and us if you could make this dream come true.
Yours faithfully
Angela

well just to say one of my dreas is to act ad becme an actress, or even see a live act with sandra bollocks, or NCSI, etc
I have done acting from being a kid. My real passion is impersonating and although I am able to manipulate my voice well and also do any accent too my dream is to do a masterclass with Alistair McGowan. Unfortunately there isn’t any training around for impersonators so everything I have done so far is self taught – to have the opportunity to have professional feedback on what to do from a real master of the industry would be the best present ever.
I pray this wish comes true
