TOWIE: Lauren Goodger quits The Only Way Is Essex to take part in Dancing On Ice!
There have been rumours circulating for months that Lauren Goodger was leaving The Only Way Is Essex (one way or another) and today it has be revealed by the Sun newspaper that she has indeed resigned from the show that launched her career, to take part in next year’s Dancing On Ice!
According to the paper, tonight’s series finale of TOWIE will be the last time we will see the Mark Wright reject on the show (good news for TOWIE fans, not so great if you are a DOI fan though), as from now until January she will be training for the hit ITV ice skating show, fronted by Olympic legends, Torvil and Dean.
“An opportunity to do Dancing On Ice came along and she’s jumped at the chance.”
“Lauren has not had the biggest storylines in the latest series of TOWIE, and now that she has dumped Tom Pearce, she may have decided there wasn’t much to hang around for.
“DOI takes a few months of training so if she does join that show, she’ll have a busy few months ahead!”
Lauren is busy today, preparing for the TOWIE wrap party later this evening and tweeted her followers saying:
‘Good morning Essex!Hows every1 2day?I’m goin up town for meetings then 2night I’ve got towie wrap party @donnaloustyle got me adress whoop x’
Do you think she is doing the right thing by quitting a series to take part in a one off event? Both Kirk Norcross and Amy Childs quit TOWIE to take part in Celebrity Big Brother, and whilst Amy tried her hand at her won reality show, and is reported to be starring in another later this year with cousin and former co-star, Harry Derbridge, Kirk has pretty much disappeared off the reality radar (apart from disturbing images if him with his tongue down Jodie Marsh’s throat).
The series finale of The Only Way Is Essex can be seen at 10pm on ITV2/ITV2 HD.
