TOWIE: Lydia Bright’s shop attacked by vandals

Oh dear, it would seem that Lydia Bright is the latest TOWIE star to be attacked by haters, or at least her shop is!

After the petrol bombing of her The Only Way Is Essex co-star, Lauren Goodger,on the opening night of her fake tan salon, Bright’s boutique, Bella Sorella, was attacked by vandals, this time in broad daylight, according to the Sun newspaper.

According to the paper  Bright, who is dating co-star Tom Kilbey in the hit ITV2 reality show, was inside the shop with her mum, Debbie Bright, sister Georgia and friend and co-star, newly engaged Lucy Mecklenburgh, when vandals attacked the Essex shop.

The vandal, thought to be a teenager, is said to have thrown a brick through the window from outside before running off.  Luckily show insiders were on hand to chase him, and eventually caught him.

Shop worker Katie Corcoran told TV Biz: “It was very frightening. The noise of shattering glass. I’ve never heard anything like it.”

“I don’t know if he was showing off or he was doing it to spite Lydia. No one knows. I just saw him do it then he ran off and everyone went after him.”

It was Katie’s cousin, Georgia, along with a photographer and two members of filming crew who set off in pursuit of the youth, hauling him back to the shop to wait for police once they had succesfully caught the little scamp.

According to Katie, the youth had  been practising parkour — street gymnastics using benches and walls as launch pads — outside the shop in Loughton High Street in Essex. He had then backflipped into the window and smashed it.

She added: “He was a bit, ‘Oh, I’m sorry’ when he turned up to the shop. He couldn’t run any more because there were so many people chasing him. I think he just gave up and thought, ‘I’m just going to go with it.’

“Debbie was furious, more because he could have hurt someone. Lydia was really strong — she knew what to do, she was very calm.”

Once things had dies down Bright took to social networking site, Twitter, to tell fans of the incident, tweeting:  “Unfortunately today @BellaSorella251 was vandalised. The suspect is in custody & the issue is being resolved. Open tomorrow as usual x.”

Georgia expressed thank’s to all who helped, tweeting: “Thank-u to everyone who joined in the chase to catch the culprits.”

Whilst Debbie voiced her disappointment, tweeting: “Today has been a prime example of for every action u take their is a consequence attached to it !! #unbelievable.”

A police spokesman said: “An 18-year-old man was arrested for criminal damage and received a caution.”
