TOWIE and Made In Chelsea go head to head at the National Reality TV Awards
This year’s nominations for the National Reality TV Awards have been announced by former MP (but far more memorably, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here contestant and Cheeky Girl chew toy), Lembit Opik.
And all eyes will be on the head to head battle between rival hit reality shows, The Only Way Is Essex and Made in Chelsea as both are nominated for the award for Best Reality Non-Competition Show, along with The Secret Millionaire, The World’s Strictest Parents, Supersize vs. Superskinny and Don’t tell the Bride, as well as both shows being nominated in the Best Entertainment show category also!
Nominated for Best Business is last years winner, The Apprentice, which goes head to head with Dragon’s Den, Secret Millionaire, Mary’s Bottom Line, Undercover Boss, Young Apprentice and The Exclusives.
Up for Best TV Presenter Award, which was won last year by Mark Dolan (Balls of Steel), is Paddy McGuinness (Take Me Out) , Tess Daly (Strictly Come Dancing), Noel Edmonds (Deal or No Deal), Evan Davis (Dragon’s Den), Christine Bleakley (Dancing on Ice), Holly Willoughby (The Voice), Reggie Yates (The Voice), Brian Dowling (Big Brother), Rick Edwards (Tool Academy), Stephen Mulhern (Britain’s Got Talent) and Emma Willis (Big Brother’s Little Brother).
The award for best Docu-soap see’s Big Fat Gypsy Weddings take on the King of reality TV, Peter Andre My Life, as well as self-proclaimed hater of reality shows (despite dating one of its stars, making a cameo in one and making his own) Professor Green with Professor Green Unseen.
The awards are up to the public to decide, with voting open now, so have a look at the full list of nominations below before you vote for your favourite. The award ceremony is due to take place on 30 August, with the The National Reality TV Awards also being used as a vehicle to raise awareness for several charities including Help for Heroes, Shelter and DCT (Diamond Children’s Trust) which helps children in countries affected by war.
