TOWIE: Tom Kilbey grows a spine, Gemma and Charlie are at it again and comical insults from Joey Essex!
After such a jam-packed series 6 of The Only Way Is Essex, it is more than we can bear to think that there are only two more episodes left to go!
So far this series we have had pregnancy scares, new romances, skeletons jumping out of closets all over the place, and worst of all, we saw Arg naked, and last night’s episode didn’t disappoint either.
Jamie was introduced to the cast and viewers last week, as the one night stand of Lydia Bright’s who sparked her ex James Argent to launch a torrent of abuse at the blonde boutique owner. Also, boasting to his friend, Jamie disclosed his other sexual conquests amongst the TOWIE group, including Joey’s kind of sister-in-law, Billie Faiers, and his sister, Frankie Essex.
Sunday’s episode saw Arg trying to pull Jamie up on his comments on Joey’s behalf, to which Jamie replied that if there was a problem, then it was between him and Joey, and that Joey should take it up with himself.
Which he did.
We all know how Joey, who wrestled Ricky Rayment to the ground during last series of the hit ITV2 reality show, is not one to shy away from a confrontation, Mario the ‘slush-puppy’ Falcone can vouch for that, and so last night viewers were treated to a typical Joey showdown, complete with comical insults!
Joey paid Jamie a little visit, saying: “My sister [Frankie] cried for a whole day because of you. So it’s upset me. It’s upset my family. We’ve really got the hump with you.”
Jamie’s response was to send some flowers, which wasn’t apparently wasn’t good enough for Joey, who called Jamie a “mug” before leaving, followed by “a proper lunchbox”.
Elsewhere, tensions were still riding very high in the whole Gemma/Charlie/Bobby incident.
Fans of the show will know how last week at Sam’s birthday, Bobby confessed to Charlie that he had fallen in love with him, a feeling that most definitely was not mutual. Sunday’s episode saw Charlie confiding about the situation to Lil Chris, explaining how he did not want it to affect his friendship with Bobby, but that he would be really upset if he found out that Bobby had talked to his ex-girlfriend, Gemma, about his feelings, as Gemma had always mocked them about being a gay couple.
Cue straight to Bobby confiding in, you guessed it, Gemma.
Last night saw the fall out of that betrayal, with Bobby confessing to his best friend, and boy-crush, Charlie, that he had in fact talked to Gemma about him. Charlie was furious, and Bobby was left feeling even more miserable than ever, and as the whole thing came out at Jess gig, things were bound to kick off.
And it did!
Charlie asked Gemma why she had been saying horrible things about him and she immediately called Charlie, Bobby’s boyfriend. The voices got louder and louder, and before we knew it, Gemma was not only shouting over everyone talking, but even drowned out Jess, who had a mic (and was trying to sing).
Gemma screamed at Bobby and said: “He [Charlie] was touchy feely with you, in Marbella.” Bobby replied: “What are you insinuating?” Then Gemma said: “Are you going back on your word now?”
Meanwhile, one other situation that doesn’t seem anywhere resolved, anytime soon, is the feud between Lucy and Sam.
Viewers would have seen on Sunday’s episode Sam telling Lauren P how she could get proof that Mario cheated, so obviously when Lucy saw that (we honestly think these people think they are saying things in private and their co-stars won’t have the opportunity to find out, say at 10pm on a Sunday or Wednesday) she retracted the truce that she offered in the previous episode, branding Sam a back stabber.
Lucy blasted: “Let’s be fair, it’s not the first time she [Sam] has stabbed me in the back. I broke up with Mark Wright and then that night she got in a cab with him and slept with him. That’s not a friend.”
Hmm, we wonder if the evidence has time to surface in the remaining two episodes!
Finally, Tom Kilbey said more than a few words last night (which in itself is a headline) when he showed an aggressive side (we honestly didn’t think he had it in him) when, during an argument about his sister with Arg, he managed to raise his voice louder than Gemma!
The Only Way Is Essex can be seen Sunday and Wednesday at 10pm on ITV2/ITV2 HD.
