Whatever happened to Gareth Gates? 23rd December, 06
Gareth, looking as clean and innocent as he did five years ago when he disappeared from the public eye, showed a maturity beyond his twenty two years as he openly discussed his unfortunate entanglement with the notorious Jordan, his present girl friend and hopes for the future. His come back is most welcome as this young man has a unique voice and personality that can only enrich our lives. He has totally overcome his stammer and is now helping others who have the same affliction.
He talked openly about his disastrous three month fling with Jordan. He spoke about being a seventeen year old family and religious boy, a virgin who was too much for the likes of Jordan to resist as she pursued him (his words) and corrupted his life. Apparently, she moved on happily and left the broken young boy behind. They had both agreed to keep the affair a secret because she was pregnant with another man’s baby and he was ashamed of his relationship with her. He kept his side of the bargain but she, to his shock and amazement, sold the story to the press. What type of woman is this Jordan? His greatest regret was having lied about the relationship to his family and especially to his mother who he is, unashamedly, very close to calling her his closest friend. So refreshing to see a young man not ashamed to declare his love for his mother stating that he honestly did not care what others thought of this..
We saw very little of his girlfriend of four years, who seems to be a very pretty, talented girl, a dancer and model, as careful as he is with her words and in full support of Gareth’s hoped for return to the music world.
It was sad to hear that Simon Cowell apparently dropped him five years ago, as did the company he had a record contract with, as he had been his mentor all along in Pop Idol (where Gareth came second to Will Smith) but Gareth has said that he is happy to be a free agent who writes his own songs.
Welcome back Gareth Gates we wish you every success in your venture.

Gareth lost his fan base when his vulnerability seemed to change, thats sad but fans seem to like their male stars sort of in need and the female stars strong, Once Gareth was ‘the pop star’ and doing all the normal things fans cooled to him, It may be too late to rescue a long successful career but he has talent so a modest career with intermittent success can likely still be achieved, good luck to him,he deserves another chance at stardom. Thank you, I realised after I had sent the article in that I had put the wrong Will in but it was too late to change. Also it is three years Simon Cowell dropped Gareth, at the same time as his recording company. He has been inactive for the same period of time, in the music world itself. He will have to move quickly if he wants any sort of recognition although he has had one live show, a few weeks back.

I thought the Documentary was very interesting and showed Gareth has been working hard on new material while he has been away. Also told of his work with the Maguire Programme which he is understandably proud of. Its been a long time but I think he can make it back, he is certainly talented. His Tour was brilliant, he is a very good live entertainer and captivates his audience.I wish him every success and liked the sound of the new songs “Angel on my shoulder”, “Changes” and “19 Minutes”.

It was incredibly tragic, I felt really sorry for the boy, he was desperate to have attention and critically, he had nothing to say, he was vacuous, which is a shame because I was willing him to have something to say. He’s a nice looking boy and it’s good he’s dealt with his speech problems, it’s just a shame that he has no depth to his character whatsoever.

I think Gareth has great depth to his character but the interviewer was not very good to say the least and didnt give him the openings he needed. Look at the episode about the hat all Gareth wanted to know was whether or not she wanted people to recognise him and then he would have known whether or not to wear the hat, she just didn’t make herself clear.
A lot of opportunities were missed with the Documentary, his work with the Maguire programme was filmed and so was the whole of the Private gig but we didnt get to see either.

Gareth Gates has got an amazing voice i think he sounds like George Michael. Gareth Gates is so cute I think Jordan ruined his career because she was jealous of him she is an evil twisted bitch and nothing but a golddigger she only went with him so she could make money buy selling the story to the press and ruin his career. I feel sorry for gareth cause he fell in to that trap poor innocent cutie but he has grown into a sexy young man hopefully with a bit more wisdom and i hope his career gets on track again.
