We know One Direction can be a polarising band and sure, there are probably as many people who dislike them as there are Directioners around the world, but one man has taken his hate WAY too far.
The FBI revealed yesterday that a 47 year old hater was so disgusted at the thought of the X Factor band taking to the stage in Hershey Park Stadium last July, that he called and threatened to ‘blow up’ the venue if the stars performed to their sell out crowd.
The phone call led to a massive security operation, which saw FBI and local police teams sweeping the stadium on the hunt for suspicious devices. They also searched thousands of young fans’ bags as they entered the hall but their bomb sweep ended without a find.
A press release from the FBI reveals that law enforcement officers traced the call as coming from a pay phone outside a local shop and that staff identified William, after looking through CCTV footage of the area.
Klein faced court yesterday and after entering a guilty plea, a judge sentenced him to eight months in prison, which will be followed by two years of supervised release with two months to be served on home detention with electronic monitoring.
We hope that Klein doesn’t have a Twitter account, or he’ll no doubt be bombarded by the usual death threats from One Direction fans.
Yesterday Nick Grimshaw asked Directioners to lay off the ‘homophobic’ tweets and threatening messages, after one of his staff mentioned Louis Tomlinson on his Radio 1 breakfast show in not the most flattering light.
The star was named as the team put together a list of stars more annoying than New Zealand singer Lorde.
Directioners did not like the diss one little bit!
