X Factor 2010: Is Treyc Cohen Cheryl Cole’s wildcard?
The big X Factor twist has just been announced and already the rumour mill is a-turning!
Simon Cowell has reportedly decided to introduce an extra four ‘wildcard’ contestants on Saturday’s live show. Each judge will be allowed to bring back one hopeful, who’s dreams we saw crushed on tonight’s judges houses episode and the public will vote for their favourite, bringing the number of finalists up to 13.
Sources are suggesting that Cheryl Cole was filming for the ITV show in Tamworth this weekend – the town just happens to be home to none other than phenomenal singer Treyc Cohen.
The news broke on Treyc’s Facebook page. Her friend Rachel Welch wrote:

I think Treyc is absolutely amazing she has undeniable talent. Gamu is also exceptional and has a very unique voice, I still cannot believe that Cheryl didn’t give these girls a chance. How can someone with no talent judge someone else. Herself and Danni need to go, their decisions were not based on talent this year.
Absolutley terrible judgement by Cheryl and Dannii. For once i thought Louis and Simon were the fairest and sincerest of judges. Cheryl shld have known better. How one earth could she miss out on Treyc and Anastacia over Cher. It goes to show that X factor is not all about talent but popularity. Apalling.

Cher is phenomenal and yes her voice let her down but if you cant even speak how can u sing for your life? she sang for her life at the audition and was amazing, Cheryl has seen what she is capable of and thats why shes through.. gamu isnt current enough for me but still good!!!

Well, to deny all the black contestants would obviously send one message. Danni might not realise she was doing this but it looked like no black person in her categorie was good enough for her. None of the hopefuls she put through has a chance of winning so im ok with that. I sincerely beleive Paige wld have been her best chance ever.
It is a very sad day in England, UK for all Ethnic Minorities, especially Black People. After the final 12 has been announced, it became very apparent the clear-cut racism shown by Cheryl and Dannii. Cheryl is delivering personal vendetta against every beautiful talented black woman, while Dannii is just outright racist. Am sorry but judging from saturday’s performance Katie and Cher were not supposed to have gone through that’s where the racism is and because she is Cheryl look alike that’s why she has gone through when she didn’t deserve to go through at all. She messsssed up big time. Who is gonna sit down and watch someone who has got no confidence in herself and refuses to perform for the 2nd time. Cheryl you are going to be a loser because Cher and Katie are not going to go far. You have lost credibility and you should judge people by their talents.

For goodness sake – do get real with your comments. Simon, Louis and Nicole Scherzinger ALL said that Katie, Cher and Rebecca from L’Pool should go thru – they loved them. As for the guy calling Cheryl a racist, I’m sick of people using the racist card. Will-I-Am chose the final 3 girls with Cheryl – is he a racist against his own people – of course not. The final 12 were already chosen BEFORE they even went to judges houses, and Cheryl, Dani and Louis were all told who to put through. The production team get who THEY WANT in the end! Overall I thought the girl group was the most difficult as all 8 were very good.
Looks like a person that didn’t get through at Judges houses gets picked from each category, then the four have to sing off at the live round to get the 13th place that is open to them. Not sure who votes or decides though – likely a judges one. Then the voting continues as normal to keep the show on its regular deadline…

Why do non-white people get so defensive when minorities mention racism. I am not saying the judges are racist, and of course they are entitled to their opinion. Racism does exist in the UK, it is not a figment of the imagination. We live with it every day. Is it because the truth hurts???? Go back to the performances judge them for yourself. Did Cher and the other girl really deserve a place in the final over some of the others who put performed well at every stage??? Why is Dani a judge, she had one hit so long ago I can’t even remember it, and as for Cheryl..she is a judge because of her popularity…Lets not forget the ‘racist’ incident with the toilet attendant, oh sorry of course that wasn’t racism was it???

Good grief guys!! Have you all forgotten how Cheryl got to where she is today? She started off on a talent show very similar to the one she is judging now. Yes Gamu was brilliant and I hope she gets the wild card but in my opinion, she will always be the cutesy little girl who will look the same every week but sing different songs. Cher was brilliant in her 1st audition and at boot camp and there is so much that can be done with her. She got through because she proved herself earlier on. The girl had tonsilitus for god’s sake. Have you never been ill and been crap at your job??
Sam this is naive thing you say. if they were good before, theen why the need for the final audition? Why didnt we use their previous audition to just select them? Why let the rest of the girls painfully go through an audition in which the final 3 have been pre-judged? So you see? The final audition was meant to capt it all. Mind you all the girls were GOOD . Thats why they ALL CAME to the final AUDITION which determines it ALL. So Chery was wrong. JUST ACCEPT it and Bow your head in shame.
Cher was good on her first audition, but she bombed her Bootcamp IMO. You should never rap unless you’re actually good, she did terrible. Also she rapped VIVA LA VIDA, she basically ruined the song. Then bombed her Judges houses. The only reason Cheryl let her in is because she likes her, favoritism. It was unjustice for her to put Katie and Cher over Gamu. It was an idiotic Decision, there is a reason for this backlash!

Cheryl was CLEARED of all racist charges at the trial, with black people as well as white on the jury – so time to put that to bed. I personally hope GAMU gets through on wild card, but to say Cher and Katie don’t have talent is ridiculous. Cher is 16 years old, had raging tonsillitis and you could see she felt unwell. Anybody who saw her perform in auditions and boot camp can see she can perform. Tell Nicole Scherzinger, Will-I-Am, Pixie Lott, James Blunt and all the other stars supporting Cher that she isn’t good. Katie – well different story, but Simon, Nicole and Louis said she is a star. Cheryl was told who she had to put
through, as was Danni!
This weekend’s X Factor show makes a mockery of the whole idea of having rounds. In the girl’s catagory the finalists had clearly already been decided, how else could two people who made such a mess of their auditions have been put through? Gamu sang much better than Cher and Katie (well lets face it, everyone sang much better than those two). I think Paije was the best singer of the 32, why didn’t he get through – what an injustice. So much for a singing competition, X Factor you’ve blown your credibility.
@Kiki – to answer your question “why put the other finalists through pain going to judges houses when things had probably already been decided>” – well because that is Xfactor. They do all that is done because they are making a TV show first and foremost – and they need the DRAMA! Sad but true lol!
@Jane – I couldn’t agree with you more, but XFactor is all about light entertainment, if it wasn’t then how did Hedward get chosen? How did they stay on the show for so long when other better vocalists got voted off. The public enjoy the less talented acts and vote for them, that’s why! Everybody says they are not going to watch it anymore – they always do though lol.

Wait, why does anyone think Danni is racist? She put through the three who are most likely to do well (two of whom, Matt & Aiden, were the strongest of the competition). You can’t jump on the racist bandwagon when common sense is riding next to it.
Look Danni is from OZ and if you haven’t noticed she has pulled this stunt before. Cheryl had a difficult choice but it should of been made a little easier when Katie and Cher fluffed up, end of!

The decision to not put Gamu or Treyc through wasnt racism it was plain stupidity!!
Cheryl has no clue what talent is and unfortunate for Gamu, she was put in her group. Cheryl is just pathetic simple as that, how can two contestants who do not perform at all go thru to the las twelve. i jus don’t get it. this is no longer a musical talet show.
People need to understand that it is an audition PROCESS, which means CONSISTENCY is key. Katie and Cheryl shouldn’t have been selected for the final three because despite their potential THEY WERE NOT CONSISTENT and need more time to hone their talents.
It’s foolish to rant about how good they were in past auditions when ALL the auditions counted. It should be a meritocracy but Cheryl C and Dannii have shown that nepotism
has a firm place in the X Factor. It doesn’t really bother me, it’s reality afterall, but all the deluded comments about why two volatile unstable acts (one for health reasons one for emotional reasons) should go through are simply not based on reality and are repetitive. Nepotism exists, racism exists and so does perseverance.
I’ll still watch the show, but please people be real, some people suffered some injustices at the hands of Cheryl C and Dannii on Sunday.

People if Gamy is not the wildcard from Cheryl’s category, we shud try to put TREYC on the shows because she’s the only one that got as much talent as gamu and that was judged based on her colour!

Cheryl Cole is a jealous, generic and Mundane. She has 1% talent which is her photogenic face. Gamu is unique talent with breath taking song writing abilities. Thats the reason Cheryl did not put her through because she is jealous of Gamu- Watch Cheryl’s face when Gamu was performing at Cheryl’s house.

I’m shocked that GAMU didn’t make the final cut? Cheryl has no clue what she is doing. Gamu was to me the front runner of the lot. She was flawless and i’m livid that she didn’t get through it’s completely and utterly horrific. That poor girl deserved to get through she is amazing! Cheryl shame on you, you obviously are incapable of seeing true talent! GAMU FOR THE WILDCARD!
If it were not for Rebecca, I would shout from the rafters that GB viewers not vote for anyone in Cheryl’s category. But Rebecca is incredibly special, talented and lovely. At least Cher gave a great audition, even if that’s not your style of music. Katie is just a screw up. “I wanna be a STAR”, she proclaimed. What happened to, “I want to be a great singer”? Ugh. At least Rebecca is on to live shows. And Matt. Michael Grimm just won America’s Got Talent and he’s the most humble guy you’ll ever meet. I’ll take humble any day. Coupled with talent, of course.
Glad its Treyc. I thought she was really unlucky last year. Liked Gamu too, but Treyc has the better voice.
Treyc is for me potentially like a new Whitney Houston. So I am cool with that, I will hate not seeing Gamu or Elesha Moses in the competition. The only one whose made decisions I can agree with is Simon. Be good to have a whole wildcard category rather than just add one person.
It’s all a farce – pretty obvious to anyone with an ear for music and talent who should have been through. Cheryl obviously has neither and Will.I.Am just let her choose as he obviously fancies her.

There are occasions where people are so good that they maybe they should have a second chance – like Mary Byrne who also messed up (but not much competition in this category) and Nicole Jackson from last year. Treyc Cohen would have been in this category if the age limit had not been altered!
Also Paije Richardson should have been there ahead of Nicolo Festa. Yuli Minguel should have been here before Storm Lee as she is a great singer full of energy and he has a weak voice.

Katie already has a record deal in the states so she should be out of the competition straight away. Rather than having a dig at Cheryl (who is entitled to her own opinion), maybe ppl should have a dig at the bosses that have allowed her to get so far in the competition. I like who Cheryl has put through but am sad Gamu didn’t get a spot.
Danni has picked the worst tho and let some amazing talent go. Paije was fantastic but picked a “diva whose fierce and knows it” over him. Hope Nicolo goes out in the first week!
The thing that makes me laugh is ppl that wont watch the xfactor now- like Syco will be bothered. Millions will still watch and vote. And those that wont watch will see their mates status updates or hear about it in work and will go home to watch it on catch up anyway so they dont miss out! Or lie and still watch it anyway!!

It was a travesty that Paije and Gamu and Treyc were not picked. It may look like racism (I too am white and it looked very racist to me) or it may not be racism, especially if you have been hurt by a black husband like Cheryl has ….. you hit back ? She chose black singers when she was happily married ….
I also believe it is fixed, if the auditions are the decider then neither Cher nor Katie should have gone through on very poor performances, but it is about money when all is said and done. This is a ”reality” money-making programme and saleability is the X factor not talent per se.
I am surprised at Dannii, as Paije was the best singer and a very likeable person, after all during the competition they do receive training, clothing make-overs and advice/support on how to perform. He should have gone through.
I agree that Louis and Simon appeared to be unbiased and fairer in their choices ….
Cheryl has made a mistake, Katie and Cher both cocked up when Trey C and Gamu gave fantastic performances, although the bookies had Katie and Cher as favourites, they did the same last year with Daniel and the show nearly destroyed him and his confidence. Cheryl now has to take responsibility for the back lash that is happening against the two girls put through. I would not be surprised if the public did not vote for them meaning early exits from the show. Personally I think Gamu would have won the show, she has alot of untapped potential and it is a shame we will not get to see her shine. Louie got it wrong too, if you notice 2 irish people through yet more talented individuals in his category than Mary and Storm…..
AF- Did you not notice Storm has a Scottish accent cause he’s originally from Scotland not Ireland? As far as I was aware, they were not the same place. And Mary has talent. So what she screwed up her final audition- her first was amazing- or did you not see it????
Dannii did make two good choices, but I see why she picked that Nicoli guy, he will get people talking and he is like marmite, you’ll either love him or hate him.

I am quite shocked with Cheryl’s choice, however what is all the fuss about wih Gamu? Is it her life story or what, as I honestly do not think she had an amazing voice…Is it because Loius cried ? I do however, think the young girl “Diana Ross” impersonator was pretty good, and it’s a shame that the girls who did perform to a brilliant standard never got a look in, and they probably put in more effort than Katie and the young Chreyl Cole wannabe. The young Cheryl Cole wannna be was going to get in, even if she sounded like a bloke, as Cheryl liked her from the start, god know’s why, as I think she has a dreadful voice, I honestly do not know what all the fuss is about..and the rapping is a NO NO. As for Katie, she should not have got through, but her big brown eyes and “sorry sorry sorry” has obviously won Cheryl over. Ok, so she looked good, but that’s all there is to it. She should have been booted out,as all she is is a drama queen. Cheryl has gone for looks this time, and I think this could be a really bad decision for Cheryl’s x factor career …..BAD BAD CHOICE CHERYL. I loved treyc! shes gorgeous and had one of the best voices out of the 8, I don’t think cher or katie truthfully deserve a place, cher should have come back in later years as shes clearly not ready and has many issues. Treyc should be given a chance!
Sorry guys, but I really DON’T like Gamu. Did you see the look of shock on her face that she didn’t get through? It was like she was expecting to and I personally don’t think it’s right to be that presumptuous so early on in the competition.
I’m gutted Trayc didn’t get through though, as she has got some serious talent. Hope she will be the wild card.

Totally agree Claire! I believe Treyc’s got far more talent than Gamu, and she took the news that she wasn’t in the final 12 with good grace, humility, and maturity. There are campaigns to get Gamu back via the wild card – think people are swayed by tears and a sob story (which Treyc doesn’t have) rather than pure talent. This will no doubt be unpopular, but I didn’t enjoy Gamu’s audition – Walking on sunshine is an awful song, and the version was cheesy! Remember they auto-tuned her… because it wasn’t good enough.
If the rumours of Cheryl visiting Treyc’s house this weekend are true, then I couldn’t be more pleased for her. Behind her all the way – as I have been since her awesome performance at Simon’s house last year. Go Treyc!!!
Totally agree with you Pusscat – LOVED treyc and I hope she’s the wildcard! She was completely robbed last year and again this year – i don’t know what it is about this show and real talent. She will be the next whitney houston, and we haven’t had one of those in a long while! What the heck was Cheryl saying about treyc not being able to sell albums in this current market…so she’s saying Katie will?? Trust me, Katie will be the first person voted off the x factor. I have not seen one good comment about that girl since the x factor this year started! GO TREYC!!!

Cheryl has made truly awful choices, though Danni’s were only slightly better. Simon’s choices were fair although he should have chosen The Reason rather than FYD. Louis I think made all the right choices. Initially I thought the judges had deliberately rejected a top ‘act’ each, in order to bring them back as wildcards – thus getting lots of free press – but this now looks unlikely. The wildcards should be Gamu, The Reason, Paige and Vagner.
The final 3 IMO should be TreyC Gammu and Rebekka, if TreyC is the wild card she totally deserves it, she is versatile and very consistant, not once messing up her lyrics plus as Will I Am said her range is excellent. TreyC all the way!!!!!!

TreyC for the wild card. I was gutted that Simon didn’t choose her last year. She is amazing and deserves a place on this year’s show. The ideal scenario would have been TreyC, Rebecca and Gamu but fingers crossed for TreyC and it would be amazing if she won it too to prove Simon and Cheryl wrong!!!

It would be good if the twist was a whole new wildcard category with Nicole Scherzinger brought back as a 4th judge to oversee the category. Nicole was a great judge in the audition stages in my opinion better then Danni or Cheryl. I’d like to see TreyC back as the wildcard as she is so talented. Gamu should already be where Katie is!! Cant believe Cheryl put Katie thru!! Also Elesha should come back, Diva Fever I think will as think Simon secretly really likes them!

frankly, i think we can let cher’s judges houses performance slide since she was diagnosed with tonsilitis (im not particularly her hugest fan, but with practice she could do well) but i still belive that gamu is more entertaining, flexible, and talented than katie. I dont resent anyone for there singing ability or my disagreement of how far they got, but gamu was so talented and i hope that gamu is the wild card contestant, although its highly unlikley, but treyc did strike me as a talented young woman (still not as good as gamu in my opinion) i’ll see what happens and hope that gamu returns or atleast has some future career in singing, something even the blindest talent agent would see.

I don’t get Treyc, sorry folks. Gammu moves me to tears. Paije is stunning. I said when Paije wasn’t put through that there would be some “twist”, Gammu not being put through just seemed to confirm that.Simon has at least two groups that could grace the finals. Louie’s is the weakest category. When the expected “A Big Twist” was announced it really did plummet the show to new depths of cynical public manipulation. I concluded, possibly unfairly, that the judges had been told who NOT to put through because the “twist” was a pre-planned thing.
Still, we are all discussing it so I guess Simon and Co will be over the moon/filling their coffers.
Cheryl chose Cher and Katie because they are current.
They already have their own style and individuality: the best way to become an icon, is to be an icon.
They bound to make money and ride on the public interest.
If Gamu wants to be a recording artist, she should just do it.
X factor isn’t really that good an opportunity for real singers… which is why I have mixed feelings about Matt Cardle going through, they’ve already started to make him a product. Boo
Guys you are all missing the point. The X Factor is about selling records and making money. The acts that were chosen (especially by Cheryl) were chosen on their sell-ability. Cher has something different, something that X Factor has never had and it will sell records. Katie has a presence and although not a great singer she has a modern Madonna feel about her (and we all know how much money that has been worth over the years!). Rebecca is the real singer in the category, and I think you’ll find she will exit the competition quite early on as she lacks confidence and presence. As for the other judges, I feel Simon’s choices were also purely commercial, and of course they were, he’s the one who has to pay their wages when they win!

Dan. They always said this year they wanted something different. Cher is different. Gamu was not that good so many artists sing the same or better than her and dont sell records. Gamu has had her passport taken away she has not got a visa to stay in this country they are trying to renew it BUT under these circumstances it would be impossible to put her through if she might be imported.

A lot of people are saying that both Cheryl and Dannii are poor judges and possibly even racist (-doubt-). I agree with half of it. Cheryl put through two acts that completely failed and ignored great singers like Gamu and TreyC. But I don’t think Dannii was racist, I think that she made a good choice of the category. I totally see why she put through Matt and Aiden and while I think Paije would have been a better third, Nicolo is a good singer. The difference between the two are that one put through the only two white acts, both of whom performed by far the worst; the other chose three white acts where her category had a majority of white acts, when all of her acts performed brilliantly.
I THINK TREYC DESERVES THE WILDCARD BECAUSE…GAMU WAS AUTOTUNED SO WHY SHOULD THAT CHEATER BE ALLOWED BACK…OBVIOUSLY IT WASN’T HER DECISION BUT WHY TRY TO HIDE IT? I think TreyC is fantastic. I get why Cheryl chose Cher and Katie, since people love “quirky” singers so much these days, though Cher is still young and can come back later, she probably won’t cope very well anyway. Katie has a lot of style but lacks range and power.
Definitely think it should have been Rebecca/TreyC/Gamu. Loved TreyC since last year. I think one of the reasons she didn’t get picked was she would be competition for Alex and Leona, since she’s also a conventionally good singer.
The boys should’ve been Matt/Paije/Marlon (sorry, I don’t really get Aiden, I can see he’s good but I think he’s a bit weird…not for me). The overs should’ve been Storm/Elesha/ either Mary or John. Simon’s the only one I really agree with, shame about Husstle though.

The allegations that cheryl is racist makes me angry.
she may have put cher and katie through because they have more of a “whole package” and have more potential to sell records.
or she may not have had anything to do with the decision and it was made by the producers for the above reason plus it creates more media attention / controversey etc. (ooh look it worked) then it will create even more media attention when they bring either trayc or gammu back as a wildcard! it would be boring if the people everyone expected to go through went through straight away.
I can’t believe how much you guys are moaning! Yes gamu was good but the people that went through are the people that would sell most records. It’s a FACT that if Cher and gamu released albums Cher would have more chance of hitting number 1 than gamu ever would! It’s a shame cos gamu is a better singer vocally but Cher is a performer, singer, rapper and she has the right look to sell! It’s a package deal which is what gives her an x factor hence the name of the show!
And as for starting on Cheryl! Saying she has no talent and has ruined x factor is ludicrous! She alone just by appearing on the show brought in 38% more viewers in and increased the fan base massively. You all think you know what your talking about when she is the one who has been there and been in that world! She knows what sells and what doesn’t! Agree Gaz. Have just had about enough of people pulling this race card whenever someone black gets voted out. Pathetic. Dont like Cher but at the end of the day she WILL sell more records than Gamu ever would. Love Treyc and hope she gets the wild card. Took an instant dislkie to Gamu from day one. Had a horrible personality and was just one big attention seeker, going on about her family constantly and playing the old sob story technique again. Gamu should have gone through she had the sweetest and nicest personality which would have won over the public who weren’t already rooting for her anyway. And she had by far and away one of the best voices in the competition. I really truely hope that Gamu gets used as the wildcard because otherwise I won’t be particularly happy and I probably will give X-Factor a miss this year. If Treyc is the wildcard then I will also vote for her because this is the second time she has tried and she does have a brilliant voice

i think if gamu is not the wildcard there is something seriousley wrong, surely cheryl as seen the up roar it has already caused. i love x factor and could not wait till saturday nights, but i think i’m going to boycott it this year. my other half has always said its fixed and i’m beginning to agree.
If Treyc Cohen was the wildcard, I would definitely vote for her, but I still think Cheryl made a mistake putting Katie and Cher through. I think Cheryl should have put through Gamu Nhengu and Treyc Cohen instead. Even though I like both of them, I prefer Treyc Cohen slightly and hope she is the wildcard and contestant number 13.

Even though TreyC only got a 40 second audition this year; I have been her fan from the start. In fact, I was her fan from last year too – but more so this year!
I am very glad to hear that she will be returning; I have checked EVERY source and they all follow the same pattern of TreyC; Paije; DivaFever and Wagner.
I hope TreyC does NOT get slated because of Gamu Nhengu who, in my opinion, also did deserve a spot but I am far more a fan of TreyC Cohen!

I don’t understand why the Age Group was changed! It made the Girls too strong and the Overs too weak; well it did before the choices were picked and now they’re pretty even. It didn’t make a difference anyway; the “under 28s” didn’t get picked. Except, TreyC obviously who might just be the Wildcard.
