X Factor 2012: 2005 winner, Shayne Ward, slams show for not including him in promo

In all the build-up to this year’s X Factor there is one person who is less than enthusiastic!

X Factor 2005 winner, Shayne Ward, has publicly expressed his disappointment at being left out of the new X Factor 2012 trailer, which features many of the shows previous winners and success stories.

Producers of the hit ITV reality talent contest decided to revamp the show’s image this year by running the one minute long advert, which shows the likes of JLS, One Direction and Leona Lewis describing how taking part in the competition and showing their finest moments.

However, former winner, Shayne, has branded the promotional advert as ‘pathetic’ for not including him in it.

Shayne won the competition back in 2005, beating bin man, Andy Abraham in the final, having been the firm favourite throughout the entire series, and is currently starring as Stacee Jaxx in the West End production of Rock Of Ages.

After the advert was broadcast, the That’s My Goal singer took to social networking site, Twitter, to express his opinion, tweeting: “Just seen the new Xfactor promo video. Yet again it’s like im being erased slowly from their history. Pathetic really Would love to know why?” [sic]

Then followed several messages of support for the star, who was mentored by Louis Walsh on the popular singing show, to which he replied: “Thank you to everyone who tweeted me nice messages. It just would’ve been nice to have been acknowledged. It was a big part of my life x” [sic].

Fair enough, he hasn’t made it as big as the likes of JLS or One Direction, who didn’t even win the show, but he has hardly flopped since taken part, and will always remain the most gorgeous contestant EVER!

Cheer up Shayne, we still love you!
