X Factor 2012: Anastacia joins Gary, Tulisa and Louis as guest judge in Glasgow, whilst Katy Perry says she has turned down the job!
With the future of the X Factor judging panel as uncertain as ever, to help with the audition stages of the competition as they travel to Glasgow, US signing sensation, Anastacia, has been drafted in as a guest judge.
Since the auditions began a few weeks ago, the lack of a permanent fourth judge has seen a string of stand in guest judges take the vacant seat to decide who to send through to the boot camp stage of the competition, including Geri Halliwell, Nicole Scherzinger and Rita Ora.
We are pretty sure that the show execs at the X Factor had hoped the position, turned down at the 11th hour by former judge, Dannii Minogue, would have been filled in by now, but seeing as it has not, they are being forced to hunt for more and more fill-ins, with Anastacia being the latest when the show returns to Glasgow.
According to The Sun newspaper, the Sick And Tired singer, who battled and beat breast cancer a few years ago, will join full-time judges, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos, for the Scottish heat of the popular reality talent show.
Speaking to the paper, she said: “I’m so excited to be back in the UK and be part of this fantastic show – I can’t wait to see what talent Glasgow has to offer. Watch out for a lot of laughter!”
Meanwhile, US pop princess, and ex-wife of Brit comedian Russell Brand, Katy Perry, has implied that the full-time job had been offered to her, but that she had turned it down.
Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, the Fireworks singer, who filled in as a guest judge in 2010 when Cheryl Cole (who incidentally was sat next to her in this interview), said: “There’s not actual paper contracts but people have been interested in me judging people.”
