Caroline Flack, who of course co-hosts The Xtra Factor with Olly Murs, has revealed that there are so many “brilliant” singers in the Overs category this year, all the judges are hoping they land that category to mentor.

Traditionally, nobody is ever that keen for the category, and it very often falls to Louis Walsh, who is notoriously a supporter of the novelty acts that we all love to hate.

For instance, last year, he ditched the truly talented Carolynne Poole – who is trying out for the show again this year – from his category during last year’s Judges’ Houses rounds and instead took novelty act Goldie Cheung through to the live rounds.

She of course later dropped out of the show, wisely realizing she was indeed the joke act.

However, speaking to the Mirror, Caroline revealed, “There’s so much talent this year…

“It’s even getting to the point where I’m like, ‘There is too much – how are we going to narrow it down?’

“Normally the Overs are the novelty acts but they are really amazing this year, especially the girls.

“There are some real Leona types and one in particular is really good.

“Everyone wants the Overs and all the judges are fighting for them because they are brilliant.”

I can’t wait for this year’s X Factor, particularly given that some of the show’s awesome singers – who previously didn’t make it to live shows – are back, including as mentioned above Carolynne and also Jade Richards.

Neither of them should’ve slipped through the show’s net in the first place!
