X Factor 2012: Lucy Spraggan wows Take That’s Gary Barlow with own song ‘Last Night’

Lucy Spraggan, 20, from Sheffield is one of the stand out acts set to shine on tonight’s X Factor show.

The singer songwriter wows the panel with her own self penned song ‘Last Night’ and before taking to the stage told Dermot O’Leary that she sells family photo sessions for a living and really wants to make a career of her music.

She explained:

“You know people in the street with clipboards? I stop people with prams and try and make them buy baby photos. 99p portraits, that’s what I do and its very boring.

“Some people wouldn’t put me in X Factor, I just think I could be a bit different.”

Taking to the stage and addressing the panel, the talented crooner said:

“I’m going to sing my own song called ‘Last Night’ which is about when you wake up on a Sunday and you’ve got Beer Fear of what you did the night before…if anyone can relate to that!”

The judges were blown away by her performance and raved:

Tulisa: “Oh Lucy, you have completely and utterly got me sold, that song there is going straight on my ipod. That clever, kind of rappy singing, it’s funny, it’s intelligent the way you put your lyrics in……I love it, I just love it!”

Louis Walsh: “That song could be a number one record Gary couldn’t it? Lucy, very few people get that reaction do you realise that? I’ve been doing this nine years and we’ve never had anybody like that”

Gary Barlow: “I loved your song, what a fantastic songwriter you are, when you listed all those drinks it’s just like a regular night out for Tulisa!”

Mel B: “I absolutely loved it! You don’t know how great you are, that’s what’s endearing as well, you’ve got like a little bit of vulnerability about you, be confident, you are brilliant!”

Tune into The X Factor at 7.45 tonight to see if Lucy has done enough to win a place in bootcamp. Listen to the clip below and tell us if you think she’s good enough…
