X Factor 2012: Simon Cowell accuses The Voice of stealing from him!

Music Mogul, Simon Cowell, has come out and blasted The Voice again, this time claiming that the format is stolen from him!

The X Factor puppeteer, who has been very vocal about his feelings toward the BBC rival talent show that threatened his beloved Britain’s Got Talent last year, has made claims over format theft in a recent interview, according to the Mirror newspaper.

According to the paper, Cowell has also vowed he will make sure that his US version of the X Factor will now beat the American Voice in this years ratings battle, but is not giving away any secrets as to how he intends to do this.

When questioned as to whether he intended to make changes to show formats, he coyly replied: “I am. I’m not going to say what, because as you know we are going to be competing with The Voice.

“I’ve seen elements of what we were doing on these shows. Producers see something they like and they nick it.”

Despite these strong words, Cowell was very clever about his wording and refused to say outright what it was he thought the ITV show had stolen:

“I don’t even want to mention it,” he said. “They know.”

“Anyone who watches both shows, you’ll see where they started and where they got to and what changes. I have seen it on other shows, as well.

“Like I said, it’s the nature of TV producers, they will do it. We have been working on some ideas for a year, some may work, some won’t, but I am trying to make it different for the reasons.”

He then went on to mock The Voice’s spinning chairs, commenting: “I’m going to suggest that not only do they spin, they eject people through the ceiling!”

This isn’t the first time that Cowell has made these sorts of allegations, having previously commented that both shows were the same, and even that The Voice should be on the radio rather than TV.

That is terrible, I couldn´t support that bad singer… She shouts instead of singing! I closed before she finished, my ears!

  2. Sean Bassett says:

Simon Cowell is so right. As soon as it got to the live shows, you could tell it was just a inferior version of X Factor. Everything was the same. It was just X Factor only with nice judges, instead of cruel ones.

I agree with simon 10 per cent
