MTV reveal today that X Factor judge Tulisa has revealed that she’d love to have former judge Cheryl Cole back on the show this year, now that it’s been officially confirmed that neither Kelly Rowland nor Dannii Minogue are returning to the show.

During an interview with Free Radio’s James Merritt, Tulisa said, “If I was a producer and I was picking judges for the show, I would probably go for different people than who I would like if I was on the show and wanted sitting next to me.

“I was a big fan of the show before I was on the panel, so I used to love watching Cheryl, so I would, yeah. I don’t think that’s going to happen though.”

No, I think we’d all agree that’s highly unlikely, however, The People reckon that US singer Katy Perry HAS been lined up as a new X Factor UK judge, and it’s all a done deal with an official announcement expected imminently…

Katy of course made an appearance as a guest judge on the show in 2010 during the Dublin auditions, and the viewing audience warmed to her right away, as did – apparently – Simon Cowell.

A show insider told the paper, “Simon and the producers are really keen to get Katy, she was excellent last time. Advanced talks are taking place.”

However, a spokesperson for The X Factor wouldn’t confirm or deny that Katy had been hired, and said an announcement about the judging panel line up would be made “in due course”.
