X Factor 2013: Union J finished recording debut single
Former X Factor contestants Union J have finished recording their debut single.
The band, who finished fourth on the ITV talent contest and were offered a record deal by Sony Music in December, were in the studio on Monday to lay down the track.
The Union J boys broke the news to fans by apologising for cancelling a show in Belfast as they needed to quickly record the song this week.
They tweeted: “Recording our first single on Monday! So sorry Belfast but we have to change the gig date, things are moving so fast for us! We’ll be back!”
The group is reportedly planning to release their debut album later this year after building up a fanbase following their performances on The X Factor in 2012.
They are also hoping to recruit JLS star Oritsé Williams as their manager as he also took part in The X Factor with his band and succeeded after the show.
A source said: “Louis [Walsh] has management experience but Oritsé has youth and the knowledge of being in their shoes on his side. People think Louis is past it for a band like this.”
