X Factor rejection prompts suicide threat

According to The Sun today, a woman who received a unanimous “No” from the X Factor judges at yesterday’s auditions ran out of the studio screaming that she was going to kill herself.
The paper claims that the hysterical 50 year old woman was seen by a doctor who was on stand-by at London’s ExCel centre. The decision to have a doctor present at auditions was made following the revelations about Susan Boyle’s mental health problems when she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent.
An eye witness to the shocking event, Tracey Ward, told the paper, “She ran off, shouting that she was going to commit suicide…
“The producers ran after her. An hour and a half later they were still making sure that she was OK.”
She added, “My eye was drawn to this lady. She was acting strangely – very over the top and hyper. You have to ask whether she should even have been at the audition in the first place.
“As a stranger I could quite clearly and immediately see that she was vulnerable – and yet she must have passed three auditions to get through to this stage. At each of those auditions she must have been told she was good enough to go through to the next stage.
“It creates a false impression that she was good when actually they just thought she was funny.”
An X Factor insider said, “Nobody expected to have to use the doctor quite so soon” and added, “The welfare of contestants is of paramount importance.”
It seems that after talking with the medic and having been promised further help, the lady calmed down and began to be “more rational” about the incident.
