X Factor vocal coach Yvie Burnett has defected to The Voice UK!
Scottish vocal coach Yvie Burnett has worked with hundreds of singers, and until last year, she was in overall charge of coaching X Factor wannabes.
However, after “taking a break” from the show last year, and while writing in her regular column for the Sunday Mail last November, Yvie said of X Factor 2011, “There hasn’t been an outstanding level of talent this year, or any outstanding performances.
“There has been nothing that has had people talking for the rest of the week in the office.
“Instead of the voices, they are talking about the arguments, bullying and drugs scandal.
“To me, the show lacks something, and I think that is a superstar.
“Looking back over the series so far, I do think the show has lost its heart a wee bit.
“In years gone by we were so lucky. We had Jedward, Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon and Joe McElderry all in one year…
“This year, I wouldn’t blame the audience if they were a bit underwhelmed.”
However, it seems that at some point earlier this year, Yvie signed up with rival show The Voice UK, and this week, she’s been busy helping the finalists get ready for the first live show.
Yesterday, singer Adam Isaac tweeted a message to Yvie and her assistants which read,
“Thanks for your help this week guys! :-)”
And earlier in the week, 17 year old Sophie Griffin tweeted, “Rehearsals with @iamwill @DanteSantiago1 and @yvieburnett have been incredible..
“Now its time to do this!! #TEAMWILL”
I’m guessing this means Yvie won’t be back on X Factor this year then!
