X Factor: Where Were Daniel Evans & Ruth Lorenzo During Hero Song?
UPDATE: Simon Cowell made an announcement at the start of the Xtra Factor saying that Daniel and Ruth had got locked off the stage due to a faulty door……another good conspiracy theory ruined!!!!
Our eagle eye readers have pointed out to us that Daniel Evans and Ruth Lorenzo were not on stage during the performance of the finalists charity single, Hero.
I don’t know if the pair were crying backstage, or if they disagreed with the cause which the single will raise money, for but they certainly weren’t miming with the rest of the X Factor acts.
So what do you make of this turn of events? Any theories out there people? Leave your comments below!

I’m not going to add any conspiracy theories…. but surely people have noticed how many posts this subject has produced and how everyone is riled?? Which basically is all the x factor could want!
They were miming, at one part Laura pulls her mic too far away from her mouth but you can still hear her voice, and it cant have been pre-recorded, otherwise they would have sorted out the problem with the doors & Daniel & Ruth would have been shown.
listen to everyone….yeh ppl prob fel cheated but end of day this release is for 2 charities and damn good ones too, so chill out and just buy buy buy ur copy

Ruth and Daniel disgusting that they didn’t sing or mime for Help the Heroes. As a wife of a serving soldier i now know who won’t be getting my vote.
whether Ruth and Daniel got trapped behind the door or not we will never no! they all look so confused as are looking round and it is so obvious they are miming. laura mimed Ruths part and when daniels part comes on it doesnt show anyone apart from austin not having a clue what to do.

why mime in the first place? they are out of time singing and there is no breathin as you can hear when they are live!
if you are saying that they was miming then surly we would of notice when one of the others was singing daniel or ruths part because if it was a recording it would of been there voice did any one actually think of that ps ma mate thinks they should of done 99 red ballons would of been gr8
I think the door did jam. Do you rememeber at one point when dermot was like announcing everyone one of the doors got stuck and simon had to squeeze through it.
Two points worth making:
Fristly it was obvious they were miming in parts, you can tell because they were out of sync at times, and at other times singing with other peoples voices. The backing track they play is not like a normal CD, they can fade in or out any of the elements (such as vocals, Strings, Guitar, etc) as all of the tracks are recorded separatey. But does it really matter, at the end of the day they will spend a large portion of their time miming if they win so why not get them used to it.
I don’t think they will have not performed intentionally, it would be tantemount to suicide to do so and as they both seem to want to win, so this is unlikely. Again for Simon to sabotage the doors would be risky as anyone annoyed by this would get more for the exclusive scoop than they are being paid by the TV company. Doors like this fail all the time, but perhaps mentioning it immediately after the performance would have been better than waiting to see if anyone noticed. It’s not difficult to see that some of the contestants were not there when even the eliminated groups were there.
At the end of the day what is far more important than conspiracy stories about doors and lip-syncing is to make sure that Rachel doesn’t win, although if she did at least she would be earning enough to pay back some of the money she has fleased out if the state over the years by having 3 of her 5 kids kept in care even though she has supposedly cleaned up her act and is able to have 2 of them back. Why does she deserve a break when she has caused her own problems and expects the state to pay for them.
Hi, I work at the studio and if you want to know the actual truth listen to me.
The performance in the results show is always pre-recorded (between the x factor and the results), in order to make sure it runs smoothly, and to give the judges and contestants time to get ready for the results. Because of the xtra factor being on stage and the band needing to get off stage, the recording was delayed, getting very close to the time of the results. During the performance, one of the big doors stopped responding to controls and Daniel and Ruth did not enter the stage. They did not enter the stage through other doors as this would seem un-proffesional, just running on half way through their lines, and the crew also assumed that it would be recorded again. This was not a problem for the song, as everyone was miming (to maximise sales). When seeing that Ruth and Daniel were not on the stage, the other contestants mimed to their parts, as you can hear (Alex sings with a spanish accent). No-one mentioned them not being there on the x factor because when it was being recorded, people did not know what to say and just assumed it would be re-recorded. When, after the break in the results show, the results were about to be announced, it seemed inaproprite to mention it.
The song was not re-recorded as the door was still not working and the contestents needed time to change back. As the single was coming out that night, the producrers still decided to broadcast it. We are trying to find a spot in annother show when both Daniel and Ruth will be able to sing. They are both included in the song and in the music video, and both are annoyed at not peoforming on the x factor.

daniel should have gone home yesterday and ruth should have entered the spainish version, as good as she is this is the british version of X factor. Also I feel that daniel keeps playing on his poor wifes death. The public obviously arent falling for it so why are the judges..He isnt even in the class of the other acts should never have got to the final. Danni picked him for the sympathy vote.

They were definitely miming. Girlband could not have sung quite so in tune if they were singing live. Ruth and Diana are my favourites, although I don’t believe that Ruth will win. Whilst I think Alex has a fantastic voice, is she different enough? JLS and Eoghan are all dead cute too!! Oh dear, if Daniel doesn’t get into the bottom two next week, it means that someone really talented will go a week too early – I do feel sorry for him re the dead wife scenario but he is way too cabaret. Please do not wink whilst performing!!!!
Honestly can’t believe the people on here who are so adamant they were not miming. Seriously guys!
Just watch it again and take note of the especially weak singers…Girl Band give it away the most when they belt out a better performance than they ever have done on the show and their lips and diaphragms are barely moving.
There are so many occasions that the lip-synching is out it’s untrue, although admittedly it isn’t as obvious on YouTube as it was on TV because the audio/visual quality isn’t as good.
But if you really need the evidence, look at 2:58 – 3:06 Laura mimes Ruth’s part, then you hear Daniel’s part coming in, where Austin was obviously told to take his pace but looks completely lost.
Sorry I know you are very defensive of them but they are clearly miming; not that they should really be criticised anyway. The whole point of this was to showcase the single which is for a charitable cause so they couldn’t risk Girl Band spaffing the whole thing up by being rubbish. Plus imagine having 20+ live mics on a live TV show, too risky. The song wasn’t part of the contest so it doesn’t matter if they were miming or not but…

‘Hello’ gives a very believable account above of the fiasco from that show and yes they were definitely miming! That clears it up and I would take it as fact now!

And you couldnt here there voices dans + ruths in the song on live xfactor so they were not miming
I think that they were miming, although it does look quite reassuring most of the time, there are a few times which it’s obvious that they are out of sync. Also, at first impression, the time 2:58 – 3:00 on youtube doesnt seem to be hiding anything, but then under closer inspection, you can hear that Austen’s voice is not the same as it is when it is actually him at 1:56.. I don’t know what it is exactly, but I still think that something wasn’t quite right
I think they weren’t meant to be there if they were it would of looked strange when Daniel and Ruth were meant to be singing because no one would be singing there part but all the way through that song there was someone singing and it looked like it was practised without them.
JEEZ, WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK IT IS BECAUSE RUTH IS SPANISH AND DANIEL DOESN’T AGREE WITH IT?
I know Daniel’s daughter, so I know he agrees with it.
They were obviously miming it because at one point, Laura is singing and brings the mic away and it is still as loud as when she was singing directly into the mic.
Also, (watch on youtube) you can hear Daniel and Ruth, and then all of a sudden it cuts to Austin and Alexandra. I think that was the only bit LIVE. Austin looks very confused, and Alexandra sings looking round the audience (to find the others!!!) so you can see clearly what happens. And why would they say they couldn;t get on if they weren’t in it? They;d tell the truth… surely?
Actually, I have slightly changed my mind!! You can hear that Austin sings with a deep voice, and Alexandra has a slightly deeper, Spanish accented, slightly beltier voice!! I have just watched it again, and they are defo miming!!
i think the hole single of ‘hero’ should of been done againg because even though Daniel is rubbbish Ruth is brilliant!!!
i have just listened to the song and its quite clear that at least ruth is in it as she says’you’ different. so they obviously did get trapped behind the door!deary me!
maybe Daniel was having his usual snack: 12 Macdonald’s happy meals, 30 toffee donuts with chocolate dip, and 2 dozens of sugared almonds, and 80 boxes of kfc and 65 chocolate gateau, so he was truly stuck in the door and you could hear Ruth shouting “vale,grasa pollo no puedo passar!. Fat nitwit!

How come when u watch the performance on youtube of the contestants singing on the live show you can hear daniels voice when it is his joint part with laura??? does this mean they are not singing live… or is he singing from behind the door??? weird hey…
