X Factor winner Mary-Jess Leaverland sings ‘Glorious’ on ITV’s Born To Shine (VIDEO)

Mary Jess gave the celebrity performance on tonight’s Born To Shine show, as staff totted up the result of the public vote.

The British singer won the Chinese version of The X Factor (Min Xing Chang Fan Tan ) in 2009, when she sang for 17 million viewers in both English and Mandarin.

She later landed a record deal with Decca, who recently signed UK X factor winner Joe McElderry and tonight, the stunning singer gave a stunning performance of her new single ‘Glorious’ from debut album ‘Shine.’.

Life couldn’t be more different for Mary Jess when she returns home to England, than from when she resides in China. In East Asia she is regularly mobbed by autograph hunters, but here she can go about her business without ever being recognised. It must be a nice change!

‘Shine’ will be released on August 8th and Leaverland described the album’s sound as a “True hybrid between Classical and Pop with a filmic element and an Oriental thread.” Glorious became available for download on June 26, 2011.
