X Factor’s Brian Friedman wants right of reply
The X Factor’s creative director, Brian Friedman, claims that he should have a chance to respond to critisisms from the show’s judges.
The professional choreographer revealed that he gets "frustrated" when his dance routines and productions are criticised during the live shows, and he wants the opportunity to argue his case.
"The judges are allowed an opinion, but I get frustrated. I’d like to be able to fight my cause," Friedman explained. "I’m not afraid to take the blame for something they think is bad, because I stand by my vision.
"I love choreographing, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to give my two cents, as I’m very opinionated. A balance between the two would be nice."
Friedman added that he was especially annoyed when Cheryl Cole critisised his use of "dated" sequinned jackets for boyband JLS.
"I didn’t think their jackets were dated at all," he said. "They were made recently, they fitted great, and they looked smooth.
"Who’s Cheryl to say sequins are dated? Especially when Diana [Vickers] has been onstage in a beaded dress with crystals on her head. I thought Cheryl was a bit hypocritical. She was just doing it for the reaction."
