Could 2016 not only be the end of One Direction but also one of our other favourite boy bands?
Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer, or 5SOS to fans, have recently finished their their impressive Sounds Live Feels Live world tour and are celebrating performing over 100 concerts on the run.
Michael Clifford, the band’s guitarist took to Instagram to celebrate that the extensive tour was over and that he would be resting up and taking a well-deserved break…sound familiar?
Similar to how One Direction are taking a break that almost seems permanent?
Clifford’s post read: “2016 for 5SOS has ended. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us this year and every year before that if you need me, I’ll be on the couch in my pyjamas watching Spongebob.”
So is this the end for the group?
Last month, Clifford confessed that he and the rest of the lads plan to “learn more” about themselves in their downtime but no one is sure how long this ‘downtime’ will be.
He said: “This year has been an incredible one for us, and although it’s not over yet we’re looking forward to doing another tour again after we take some time off and write a new album. It’s going to be a real opportunity to grow more as people and learn more about ourselves/the world.”
It seems that the bassist Calum Hood already has plans set up though.
The 20-year-old must be wanting to experience the real way most 20-year-olds live and take on the role of a barista.
On Monday, he tweeted: “So while I have time off I’m going to become a barista. Next time you see me I’ll be serving you mocha frappuccinos at your local Starbucks.”
Of course, with a popular boy band member announcing his desire to work for their company, Starbucks were quick to announce that there would be a green apron with his name on it.
So is this the beginning of the end for the Aussie boys?
We certainly hope not!
