Last night, former X Factor winners Little Mix returned to the show that made them famous in order to debut their new single, Shout Out To My Ex.
And the feisty girl band didn’t pull any punches in the track, which is widely believed to be a direct dig at Zayn Malik, who was of course formerly engaged to Little Mix singer, Perrie Edwards.
However, if the track is indeed about Zayn Malik, then it’s the first time that Perrie Edwards has truly spoken out about their breakup…
And it seems it really was as harsh and sudden as it was claimed to have been at the time!
When the news that Zayn and Perrie had split first surfaced last year, it was widely rumoured that Zayn ended their relationship by sending Perrie a ‘It’s over’ type text message. However, Zayn later denied that that was the case.
But now, Perrie has seemingly confirmed that the rumour was true…
HollywoodLife quotes extracts from new Little Mix book, Our World, in which Perrie Edwards addressed the Zayn Malik breakup, writing, “It was horrible…
“The worst time in my life.
“A four-year relationship, two-year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that.”
Perrie, who’s believed to be dating Our Girl actor Luke Pasqualino, added, “It was incredibly difficult for me.
“I was happy, but inside I felt broken.”
It remains to be seen if Zayn Malik is going to respond to Perrie’s allegation that he did dump her by text message. However, we would bet that he is not going to.
After all, he’s very much moved on from the romance with Perrie Edwards, and is now happily dating model Gigi Hadid.
But what do you think? Will he issue a denial, or will he leave well alone and simply wait for it to blow over?
