Got To Dance vs So You Think You Can Dance…..Sky throws down the gauntlet to BBC

You would think that everyone would be winding down for Christmas this week and that after the all consuming X Factor ended, us TV enthusiasts would get some sort of break.
However we spent today at the Sky 1 ‘Got To Dance’ press launch, tonight at the Doctor Who ‘End Of Time’ preview screening and tomorrow the BBC launch their new dance extravaganza ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’
Sky seem to be taking their newest entertainment show very seriously and are being clever enough to premiere it on the same night that Celebrity Big brother launches. Both shows are fronted by Davina McCall, so the channel are bound to command some extra attention for ‘Got To Dance’ by utilising that link alone.

Duncan Gray, the Sky1 entertainment commissioning editor today accused the BBC of “jumping on the bandwagon” with ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.
He blasted:
“Neither Diversity nor George Sampson nor 80% of the dance acts who make up our final 18 would be allowed to enter So You Think You Can Dance, as it’s a competition for solo contemporary dancers aged 18-35.”
In a not so veiled dig at Nigel Lythgoe he added:
“I’ve also had quite a lot of difficulty explaining to my kids and their friends quite who the old man with blonde hair is who keeps popping up on BBC promos declaring ‘I’m Back’.
We can’t wait to hear how Nigel responds tomorrow!
