Mother and daughter Shanelle and Cordell channel Beyonce & Shakira on So You Think You Can Dance 2011

Making their TV debut on tonight’s So You Think You Can Dance are mother and daughter dancing duo Shanelle and Cordell.

The Londoners think they have what it takes to make it big and speaking to Cat Deeley before they perform for the judges, Shanelle, 45 boasted about her daughter’s talent saying:

“She’s got everything. The swagger, the wiggle, the woggle, she has everything!”

Cordell, 21, added:

We go dancing together, go to clubs together, go to carnivals together as well. I think I am the better dancer

We shake our hips like Shakira and Beyonce. We take some of that and put it in our moves

Without any sarcasm at all, bulky Shanelle remarked:

I’m a bit like Beyonce aren’t I?

The pair were sure that Nigel Lythgoe, Arlene Phillips, Louise Redknapp and Sisco Gomez were going to love their audition and said:

The judges are going to like us….our personality and most of all our dancing because they’re never going to see anything like it.

The panel looked totally bemused by the carnival themed routine but speaking about the bubbly pair on BBC Breakfast yesterday choreography expert Sisco laughed:

I loved it, I really respect the mother for coming out and doing her thing. I do respect anyone that comes out with that amount of clothes and shakes it like that.

So You Think You Can Dance premières on BBC One at 7.10pm tonight.
