So You Think You Can Dance’s Mandy Montanez has admitted that she missed out on the chance to star in movie Nine, because she won a role in a McDonald’s advert.

The American dancer, who made it as far as SYTYCD’s semi final told Wales Online:

“I was supposed to go for an audition for Nine. So many dancers in it are from the UK and I didn’t go. I just said I’ll go to the next audition. I was just not 100% sure what it was.

“My agent just said it was for a movie called Nine, but then I got offered another job, for a day. If I had known it was for Nine…”

Speaking about the McDonald’s commercial, she added: “It ended up being the most random day of my life. I had to pretend to be a chicken. They are going to animate me and another girl into cartoon characters.

“I had to make up this dance. I was flapping fake wings. It’s goofy. I don’t know how they are going to edit it together with us doing crazy legs.”
