Coronation Street viewers last saw Rosie Webster on the cobbles in February of 2012 as she headed off to start a new life abroad.

However, Rosie has continued to be mentioned on the show by her sister Sophie and by their mum and dad, Sally and Kevin, so there was always hope that the character would one day return.

And sure enough, Helen Flanagan has indeed agreed to rejoin the cast of the long-running ITV serial drama, so Rosie will be back on the cobbles early next year.

As yet, Coronation Street bosses haven’t revealed exactly how they have written Rosie back into the show, but of course, as it’s Rosie, it’s sure to be something dramatic!

But regardless of why Rosie returns, Brooke Vincent has tweeted her excitement – Brooke plays the role of Sophie – at working with Helen again.

To that, mum-of-one Helen replied, “@BrookeLVincent so excited love you xxx”

Earlier this year, Coronation Street Producer Kate Oates told TV Biz, “The Websters have missed Rosie, and so have we.

“With Sophie away on holiday with her sister it seemed like the ideal time to bring Rosie back home with her.

“We’re delighted that Helen is as keen explore what Rosie’s been up to away from the cobbles as we are.”

But of course, Helen isn’t the only Rover who’s set to Return to the show as Georgia Taylor will soon be seen onscreen on Coronation Street again as Toyah Battersby.

As with Helen, Georgia’s comeback storyline is being kept secret so as not to spoil the action for viewers. However, we do know that Toyah’s return is going to create huge shockwaves on Coronation Street!

We’ll have more on that very soon, and likewise, we’ve got all the Coronation Street Christmas spoilers just ready and waiting to be spilled as soon as ITV release teasers for the festive plots.
