Ali Bastian voted off Strictly Come Dancing

In the real shock reality TV result of the night, former Hollyoaks actress Ali Bastian has been voted off Strictly Come Dancing.

Although Ali and her partner Brian Fortuna were second on the judges leaderboard and have been tipped to win the series form week one, there was no dance off tonight and no chance for Len and Co to save the pair.

She said: “It’s devastating but at the same time I feel like we’re going out on a tremendous high,” adding, “It’s been an incredible experience and I’ve loved every moment of it.”

That leaves Ricky Whittle and Chris Hollins battling it out for the winners title next week. We hate to admit it, but we think Chris might just pull this one off!

THE BBC STRICTLY COME DANCING HAS BECOME A SHAMBLES ALI SHOULD BE IN THE FINAL WITH RICKY NOT CHRIS WE VOTE FOR THE BEST DANCERS I THOUGHT NOT YOUR FAVORITE AS BRUCE SAYS THE MAN SHOULD BE TAKEN OF THE SHOW CRAIG AND DARCY ARE THE CORRECT JUDGES

I feel very angry that Ali was voted off last night. Both her and Ricky Whittle deserved to be in the final. The final is now a one horse race unless another cock up occurs and Chris manages to win. I just feel that the way people are voting is making abit of a mockery of the whole competition and is it worth watching the final because we all know that Ricky should win. If Ali was still in at least it would be evenly matched.

  3. OWEN HAMMOND says:

If Mr Hollins had any honour he would resign from the competition as the wonderful John Sargent did. His dancing skills are little better andd the final will just be a farce and certainly not watched by me !!!!

    • Molly says:

I quite agree I too think that Chris should resign and thus put Ali back in and make the final worth watching. As it is now if the public vote as they should vote for the best dancer then Ricky whould walk away with the competition!!!!

  4. Janey says:

Totally disgusted with the results last night,is this programme about the ability to dance and to have made a steady improvement, or about who we might think is amusing, and possibly a nice person, albeit rather irritating( Chris)
Ali should have been there for the final, she is the only celebrity to have scored full marks, it would have been a good final, Ricky dances wonderfully, and if Chris wins I think it will make a total mockery of the whole programme. Whose bright idea at the BBC was it to do away with the dance off? If only Jade was still in it too. I think this may be the last year we watch Strictly if Chris wins, the standard is going down ,not up.Roll on the X Factor!

  5. Catrin says:

That’s the end for me then. I have enjoyed several years of Strictly on a Saturday night, I hope Ricky gets the undoubted prize he deserves, but he needed a worthy opponent. I won’t watch Strictly any more now.

  6. alan wilkinson says:

Ali lost out on the final because her Argentine tango was way below the standard required,it was very hard to separate the three dancers before,sa for saying ” i wont be watching again,Numpty:

  7. Rith says:

It is not Chris who should resign, but the, no undoubtedly highly paid, idiot at the BBC who took the voting powers from the judges and made it into a popularity show. This is ok if it is the same from the outset, but the management team have in the last two years made errors of judgement ( axing Arlene etc ) and it is now going to cost us, the licence payer, money as viewing figures for the final, and the number of votes cast will be lower than if Ali was in the final. They can hardly complain of teething problems when the show has been on for so long ! Go now, and maybe some of us will consider watching next year’s series, but I will not be wasting the electricity to turn the telly on for the final. This is the final, the final straw!

Alas the result for those of us who once did learn to dance ballroom , is a farce !!!I did not bother to watch the end , so convinced of the result. Reality TV is a pain , of simple minds concerned about viewer ratings not TheBest Performance, negative pshchology of get RID of to entertain , no wonder the young behave badly to try to be noticed in the

  9. Roger Bacon says:

Like many others I too was devastated that Ali & Brian were voted off at the semi-final, and after a perfect score too for that wonderful American Smooth. I also thought that their Argentine Tango was underscored as it was just as good as the other couples. They should definitely have been in the final with Ricky & Natalie
I think it would be a great gesture if the Judges on Finals night award Ali & Brian a special award as the best losing semi-finalists.
For the future perhaps the BBC should not allow their employees to take part as happens in most competitions.
Also perhaps the audience vote should be dropped after the round before the quarter finals, so at least the best dancers get through; it is after all a DANCE Competition. Ali was by far the best female celebrity !!
