Arlene Phillips Heartbroken Over Strictly Sacking
Friends of Arlene Phillips have revealed that she is devastated about being sacked from Strictly Come Dancing.
A few weeks ago the BBC announced that Arlene was being replaced by previous winner Alesha Dixon and pro-dancer Darcey Russell.
According to The Mirror, Phillips has emailed a friend to reveal: “I’m really sad.”
Ex-dancer Debbie Moore, who has been friends with the star for 30 years, told the newspaper: “She’s devastated. I sent an email asking how she was and got a one-line reply saying how sad she was.
“I’m really angry she’s being treated like this. She loved the show and said it was the best thing she’s ever done. Replacing her with Alesha Dixon doesn’t make sense. Arlene is a world-class choreographer. If they wanted Alesha, they should have got rid of one of the men. The BBC are going to alienate the existing viewers.”

Have the BBC completely lost their minds over the sacking of Arlene Phillips. She is the best judge, made the most helpful and credible comments, has beauty, age and experience. Men and women just love her. The show has lost all credibility to me now, it is just stupid to put a previous competitor in her place – albeit a much loved winner. I’m surprised Ms Dixon has accepted the invitation. This has got to be one of the most stupid decisions the BBC have made.
I agree it is one of the most stupid decisions ever made. When you consider that there is a ratings war on all the time a cut back like this could spell the end of the programme, from the viewers perspective.
Arlene all I can say is you will be sadly missed and I for one am not sure I shall bother to watch it any more, especially as the BBC can treat people so badley. Chin up there is more than likely something better out there for you x
