The BBC are said to be in secret talks with Arlene Phillips and are planning to bring her back to Strictly Come Dancing.

The Sunday Mirror reports that show bosses want Arlene to choreograph dances in one of the final shows of the series.

A Strictly source said last night: “There’s a massive buzz about the idea of bringing her back. We’ve always seen Arlene as part of the Strictly family and, knowing how popular she is among the show’s fans, we have been looking at ways to bring her back in.”

Bosses are also said to be considering using Arlene as an extra judge, alongside Alesha Dixon and Darcey Bussell on this years grand finale.

Personally if I was Arlene I would tell the to p**s off, the producers are getting a lot of criticism of ageism, Alesha is no good, the programme is losing the ratings battle etc. So what do they do want to invite Arlene back to choreograph the last shows and be an extra judge on the finale, not because they want her but the programme is suffering without her. I hope she kicks them where it hurts and says NO.

  2. J Burkhill says:

If Arlene is to come back it should be NOW and on the judges panel (if necessary along side Alesha Dixon
because I suppose she has a contract)not at the end of the series. Personally the only way I can watch the
programme is by hitting the mute button whenever Alesha Dixon speaks.

  3. Maureen says:

Arlene should not have been sacked in the first place. She should be reinstated and compensated at the same time.Alesha should step down and do the right thing as she simply hasn’t got the experience. It is Alesha who should be asked if she would like to help the competitors limbering up.
