BBC Defends Recorded Strictly Come Dancing
The BBC has defended itself against criticism that the Sunday night Strictly Come Dancing results show was pre-recorded, by claiming that it never billed it as being a live show.
25 BBC viewers complained about the show after seeing competitor, Kenny Logan on ITV’s rugby coverage at the same time. Many have called it misleading and believe that the BBC set out to trick people.
However a spokeswoman has stated that the corporation never claimed the show was being aired live, and that many major BBC shows, such as Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, are prerecorded.

I have been a Strictly fan since the first show. Why have you altered the format? A pre-recorded results show on Sunday evening has ruined the whole programme. The show was great as a live production and wonderful entertainment on a Saturday evening. Sad to say I have lost interest in the programme. Do I also detect a USA style creeping in?

Hi Pauline, many people would agree with you about the format. I don’t know about you, but I can’t seem to remember about the show each Sunday.
It is so American….think American Idol….
