Bruce Forsyth “Shocked” By John Sergeant’s Departure

Strictly Come Dancing presenter, Bruce Forsyth has revealed that he is shocked by John Sergeant’s decision to quit the show.

Forsyth told the BBC: “I feel sorry for John because he was put in the most awkward position. He looked at all the other dancers and knew they were better than him. Over the last few weeks he must have felt guilty in a way.”

Forsyth also has sympathy for the other dancers and judges who were put in a slightly awkward postition.

“It’s all ended up a bit sad in a way. John is such a lovely guy and the whole team adore him. But then I felt sorry for poor Cherie [Lunghi] who worked so hard,” he said.

“[Viewers] don’t realise how hard the contestants work learning the dances for up to seven hours a day.”

Cherie Lunghi forgot her Latin steps and visibly faltered during her latin routines. Mistakes by John were not so obvious. Cherie’ ballroom dancing was beautiful, but she was stiff and does not have John’s charm and wit. The viewing public enjoyed what John brought to the show because it was ……entertainment
… and that is what Strictly is about! The gulf between the BBC and its viewers is widening and will soon be so big viewers will switch off. I did not vote for John because I think others deserved my vote more, but I will defend the voting public’s right to 50% of the vote and to use it to tell the programme makers what they want to see – and it clearly ‘aint Cherie – it clearly is John! Shame on the BBC, the judges and John Jordan for the disrespect they have shown to John and their viewers.
