UKTV has aquired the rights to American reality TV show, Dancing With The Stars.

The show which is based on the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing is on its eighth series and will air in the UK only three days after it goes out in the States.

“We’re thrilled to have secured yet another series of Dancing With The Stars,” said UKTV’s Christian Drobnyk. “It’s incredibly popular with our viewers and we suspect it will be even more successful this season with celebrity names that resonate more clearly with a UK audience.”

Watch’s channel head Paul Moreton added: “Whether you’re a fan of ballroom dancing, reality TV or just great entertainment, Dancing With The Stars is must-watch TV. It doesn’t matter how big a celebrity you are, everybody’s equal on the dance floor in this series.”
