On a recent interview with Radio Ulster, Gloria Hunniford says that she is not taking part in Strictly Come Dancing for competitive reasons, but mostly for fun and to get fit!

She admitted that when she was first asked to take part she was unsure what to do and asked around her family and friends for advice. But she finally decided to participate for nostalgic reasons, as she remebered back to the days when her family didn’t own a TV and she used to go to an old neighbours house each weekend to watch the original ‘Come Dancing’ programmes, such a fan was she.

Although Gloria took ballroom dancing lessons at school, that is the extent of her dancing experience so needless to say she is finding the constant rehearsals extremely challenging. But Gloria has never been one to shy from a challenge and is fully enjoying the experience.
