Coronation Street star Jane Danson has admitted that she would have problems if she took part in Strictly Come Dancing, as she really can’t dance.

The actress, who plays Leanne Battersby on the ITV soap told the Press Association:

“I’m a big sucker for the X Factor and things like that but as far as Strictly Come Dancing goes I really, really, really can’t dance.”

She added: “Being in this job does present us with opportunities to do things we might not have the opportunity to do before. Having said that you think ‘I am an actor and maybe I should stick with what I know.’ But then again, when it’s something you really want to do, why not?”

She added: “I think the public love it as well. They like the drama of watching people grow. I wouldn’t rule it out but I’m not champing it at the bit to do anymore.”
