Eastenders actress Kara Tointon is said to be signing up for this years Strictly Come Dancing extravaganza.

Kara has been asked to appear on the show for the last three years but Eastenders boss Diedrick Santer banned soap stars from taking part because of the gruelling schedule.

The announcement was made last week that Kara is soon to be being written out of the show along with on-screen boyfriend Ricky Groves, who plays Garry Hobbs, so she is now free to sign up for Strictly.

A source told The Sun : “Kara has made it no secret that she has wanted to do Strictly for years. Hopefully we can make it happen.

“She’s exactly the kind of contestant that we want on the show.”

I wonder if hiring Kara has anything to do with BBC plans to sex up this years series?
