Rebecca Adlington for Strictly Come Dancing 2013 or Splash series 2

Rebecca Adlington has retired from swimming at the ripe old age of 23 and bookies are already beginning to speculate abut what she has planned next.

Most seem convinced that she’ll make her first foray into the land of reality TV over the next twelve months and William Hill are offering Even money on bets that she’s set to take to the floor on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing and 3/1 on her joining the lineup of the summer series of Celebrity Big Brother.

“She was approached last year to take part in Strictly and now she has a little more time on her hands, she could well be tempted to swap the swimming costume for the ballgown,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

However, Becs could turn her hand to fashion designing instead. Famously obsessed with Jimmy Choos, she is 10/1 to be invited to design her own pair of the designer footwear.

Given that she is a national treasure at such a young age, she is 6/1 to be one of the anchors for the BBC’s Olympics 2016 coverage although, she could return to the pool and she is 8/1 to swim at Rio 2016.

After ITV confirmed that they will be running a second series of Splash in 2014, it’s 3/1 she turns her hand to diving.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve pooled our heads together and the odds suggest she’ll pick the ballroom over the swimming pool for any reality TV appearances this year.”
