Strictly Come Dancing 2009: dancers keep their pay

Strictly Come Dancing professionals are said to be celebrating after the BBC agreed not to cut their wages. Considering they are only on £30,000 per series I don’t think the beeb could have gotten away with paying them less.
Show presenter Bruce Forsythe had his pay cut from £660,000 to £500,000, however the professionals actually got a £4,000 pay rise due to the fact that they needed to appear in two extra episodes.
An insider told The Sun:
“The feeling was that the professional dancers already get a fairly modest pay deal and they do a lot of the actual work.
“While they are to all intents and purposes ‘talent’, the dancers are really more like staff as their dance partners are the main attraction.
“Collectively, the dancers still get less than Brucie so you could hardly accuse them of being greedy.”

Yay – like the insider says – the pro’s are the ones doing most of the hard work, so good for them!
I am so not bothered about Arlene going. And the papers really don’t get it at all do they – we’ve two new dancers come in and three leave – they haven’t worked out they’re one lady pro down at the moment cos they’ve already forgotten that Camilla had already left!
I can’t wait for it all to get going!
