Strictly Come Dancing 2009: Ricky Groves wants to make people smile

EastEnders actor Ricky Groves has revealed his cunning plan to help him win this years Strictly Come Dancing. He is going to work on making people smile, because you know the cute and funny bloke, always wins more votes.
The 41-year-old, also takes comfort in the success of previous Eastenders stars on the BBC dancing show.
“Yeah! You’ve got Jill Halfpenny (who played Kate Mitchell) who won it and Chris (Parker, who played Spencer Moon), who was second, and then also, you’ve got the tragedies as well,” he told the Press Associaton.
“You’ve got Phil Daniels (Kevin Wicks) who went out last year first – you’ve got the ups and downs so hopefully, I’m an entertainer and dancing being a form of entertainment, I’ll put a few smiles on people’s faces.”
Ricky also admitted that he isn’t too worried about taking on some of Britain’s top sports personalities in the competition.
“We were saying earlier, the sporting people are always going to bring a competitive edge to it but we’re going to have to put our own competitive spin on it,” he said.
“There’s the sporting lot and the acting lot and the presenting lot so we’ll have to keep up with them in the dance-offs.”
